United Power is a not-for-profit electric cooperative, owned by the customer-members who receive electricity from us. We are governed by a member-elected board of directors, who direct the operations of the cooperative, oversee needed rate changes, and help the staff and employees plan for the future of the company. Through careful management and constant improvements in technology, United Power is powering lives, powering change and powering the future--the cooperative way. Service Territory
United Power is a rural electric cooperative, providing electric service to homes and businesses throughout Colorado's northern front range. The service territory extends from the mountains of Coal Creek and Golden Gate Canyon to the farmlands of Brighton, Hudson and Keenesburg. In 2021, the cooperative surpassed a milestone 100,000 meters, representing more than 300,000 customers. Surrounding Denver on three sides, United Power serves 900 square miles along the north-central range of the Colorado Rockies. Our service territory wraps around the north and west borders of Denver International Airport, and includes the north metropolitan development corridors, including Interstate 25, Interstate 76, State Highway 85, and E-470.

United Power is aware of power blinks occurring in Frederick and Dacono this afternoon. Line crews were conducting prescheduled work in the area that was not expected to interfere with local power. However, due to higher-than-expected heat, the work caused power to blink.

The cooperative is working to restore the system back to prior settings and pause the intended work until a later date.

✅ Create longer passwords and do not reuse passwords across different accounts.
✅ Do not open suspicious links. When in doubt, go directly to the company’s official website or contact them using a trusted phone number—not the information provided in the message.
✅ The latest utility impersonation scams are increasingly convincing. A scammer may claim United Power is about to disconnect your service, then demand immediate payment through an unusual method. If you ever receive an unexpected payment request, STOP! United Power does not call members demanding immediate payment. If you are ever in doubt about your account status, call Member Services at 303-637-1300.

United Power is experiencing an outage affecting members living in Commerce City. The outage began at 8:40 p.m. and is affecting approximately 2,100 members. The cause of this evening's outage is a potential vehicle crash in the area of 96th and Potomac. Crews have been dispatched to investigate the outage and restore power as quickly and safely as possible.
