hijacker malware - this is where you get infected and someone "nicely" offers you a phone number to pay them a fee (many times $300 or more) to clean your computer. If you fail to do pay them, then the virus will encrypt your hard drive with a unknown encryption key and ... you can't get to your files any more.... Wonderfull!!!!
