All three in one Place!!

Our once a year event is on in a few weeks!! Be sure to sign up for our educational session, tasting you on the best of 'Winter Wines' from Pearmund Cellars, Effingham Manor Winery and Vint Hill Craft Winery on September 12th.

Winter prep like a new rake, new shovel, new gloves and new cold meds are on you. From us, In House Sommelier Keith Bevins will walk you throught he best way to set up your wine cabinet for the months ahead.

The 6 wine tasting will have a small plate of food to accompany the tasting, and will all be available for purchase.

Tasting is $35. Includes the tastings, education a small plate of food and an opportunity to purchase all wines at a reduced price.

An honor well deserved

We are proud to share that the American Wine Society has named Chris Pearmund its 2026 Award of Merit recipient. Chris will receive the award at the AWS National Conference in Jacksonville this fall. One of the wine world’s most prestigious honors, the award recognizes those who have made significant contributions through education, mentoring and advocacy.

Past recipients include author Kevin Zraly, Ravenswood founder Joel Peterson, Charles Krug leader Peter Mondavi and Caymus founder Chuck Wagner. While the award will bear Chris’s name, it is also a proud moment for Virginia wine—showing how far our industry has come and further establishing Virginia’s place in the national wine conversation.

Wine of the Week: Traminette

On the palate: cantaloupe, peach, and spice.

Traminette is a hybrid grape (a cross of two grape species, think Goldendoodle), combining Gewürztraminer and Seyval Blanc. It was created to give the Northeast a grape to call its own, one that can stand up to our tough growing conditions.

Slightly sweet and ready to drink now. Enjoy with spicy foods and salads.

Good Friends.

In between trips to New York, Grandkid stops down south, the place in Florida, and keeping the whole DMV on its toes, Josie and Tony always make time to come and see us. Everyone here loves a 'Josie and Tony Day'.

Josie will bring a snack for the winemakers during harvest and Tony will tell them why the Mets will stink this year. They are some of our favorite people. And that is what wine is about. People.

We are blessed to have people like Josie and Tony--and the 1000's of others as are part of our family. As we head into our winemaking season in the next month, remember, you are the reason we do it.
