A local towing family was taken to soon by just doing their job! Please keep their family in your prayers! RIP and prayers from us at Grace Towing!

This is the husband and wife who lost their lives in Friday’s shooting at their towing business near Pine and Garnett in Tulsa.

The family gave us permission to share this picture of Mike and Mary Moore with their 12- year-old daughter. They just celebrated finalizing her adoption earlier this year.

Now, she is facing the unimaginable loss of both of her parents.

An online fundraiser has been set up by their church, Catoosa First, help with funeral expenses and, most importantly, help provide continued care and stability for their daughter in the days ahead.

The church says Mike and Mary were a loving and caring couple who were always looking for ways to help and serve others.

A friend of theirs from church, Katherine Tresner, shared this with me, “Mike and Mary were wonderful people. They spent a lot of their time caring for others. Every Sunday they would slowly stroll into church arm and arm helping grandma and grandpa find their seats, making sure they were comfortable and had what they needed. Their sweet adopted daughter helping right along, almost always wearing a dress to match her momma Mary. They were an inspiration to me and my family. They will be missed.”

Tulsa Police say they have arrested a man, Darius Jones, on two counts of murder.

Investigators say he and two other people went to Mike’s Towing to get a car that had been impounded. That led to a dispute that turned physical. Police say security footage shows during the fight, Jones pulled out a gun and pointed it at the business owner, Mike Moore. Investigators say when Moore pulled out a gun to defend himself, Jones fired at Moore and his wife, Mary. Moore was able to return fire, hitting Jones in the arm.

Mary died at the scene and Moore was later pronounced dead at a hospital.

Jones was treated at a hospital before being booked into the Tulsa County Jail.
