Have you ever loved a job, but felt like you had to quit because the workplace culture was toxic and exhausting?

Because that is such a specific kind of grief.

When you actually liked the work.

When you were good at what you did.

When you could have seen yourself staying, growing, and building something there.

But the environment slowly drained all the joy out of it.

The job itself wasn’t the problem.

The constant stress was.

The poor communication was.

The favoritism was.

The lack of support was.

The toxic coworkers were.

The bad management was.

The feeling of walking in already exhausted was.

And eventually, you realize that loving the work is not enough when the workplace is costing you your peace.

Sometimes leaving does not mean you gave up on the job.

It means the culture made it impossible to stay.

Funny how “above and beyond” at work always goes unnoticed.

You can stay late, cover shifts, fix problems you didn’t create, help everyone else, keep things running, and quietly carry more than your share for months.

But make one small mistake?

Suddenly there’s documentation, meetings, reminders, and a paper trail like you committed a felony.

It’s amazing how some workplaces have no record of your extra effort, but somehow have perfect memory when it’s time to point out where you fell short.
