The GCHRA was founded with a vision to connect Africa with global trends shaping the future of work.

Our mission is to bring together forward-thinking HR professionals, business leaders, and technology innovators to empower and elevate Africa’s workforce. The inaugural conference saw participation from nearly 400 global attendees primarily senior and executive-level HR leaders representing over 10 industries– spanning oil and gas, mining, technology, telecom, finance, education, real estate, and public sectors. With delegates from over 15 countries, including Tanzania, Qatar, Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Japan, and the U.S., GCHRA has become a crucial platform for fostering collaboration and thought leadership. This year's theme, “Leveraging Technology to Enhance Workforce Productivity and Optimize Efficiency,” highlights the intersection of technology and HR practices, offering a deep dive into strategies for maximizing productivity and shaping the future of work across Africa and beyond.

Thank you to all the exhibitors who helped make GCHRA26 an experience beyond the conference stage.

Across the three days, the exhibition space gave delegates the opportunity to discover new solutions, meet teams, ask questions and build connections with organisations working across HR, technology, wellbeing, travel, career development and more. Some of those interactions also extended onto the GCHRA stage.

Nuno Pereira of LinkedIn shared through the LinkedIn Innovation Lab, while Seamus Clancy of LinkedIn explored what a skills-first African workforce could look like in the age of AI. Oluwadurotimi D. of Sifa brought Sifa’s perspective into both the Innovation Lab and our Day One Fishbowl conversation.

We also heard from representatives of Jobberman Ghana and Management Drives as part of the wider programme. And for many others, the conversations happened exactly where exhibitions are at their best: at the booths, through demonstrations, introductions and one-on-one conversations with delegates.

Across the conference, MTN Ghana brought different perspectives to the conversations shaping Africa’s workforce.

Rosie Ebe-Arthur FCIPD, MTN Board Member, brought the boardroom perspective, exploring why talent, leadership, workforce capability and culture must be treated as business priorities.

Esi Mmirba Wilson, CHRO at MTN, joined our Stakeholders Dialogue on how AI, academia, governance and industry can work together to strengthen Africa’s talent engine.

And Seyram Kweku Ampofo, Product Manager, Enterprise Segment and Product Development at MTN Ghana, brought the technology to life through the MTN Innovation Lab.

Thank you, PwC, for being such an active part of GCHRA26.

Across the conference and Masterclass Day, PwC brought both the people and technology sides of transformation into the conversation. Uzoaku Nwobi, Associate Director, Workforce Transformation, Advisory at PwC Nigeria, joined our Day One HR PowerPlay exploring psychological safety, wellbeing and the changing role of HR in the age of AI.

On Day Two, Richard Wogodo, Senior Manager, Technology Consulting, Advisory at PwC, led the PwC Innovation Lab on Agentic AI in HR.

And on Masterclass Day, David Tsey of PwC Ghana took delegates deeper into the practical steps organisations need to take to drive workforce transformation in the age of AI.

From the main stage to the Innovation Lab and into the Masterclass room, PwC helped move the conversation from what transformation means to how organisations can actually make it happen.

After three days at Kempinski, GCHRA26 left the conference room. Delegates headed out across Accra, Cape Coast, Safari Valley and Akosombo to experience another side of Ghana and, perhaps more importantly, another side of each other.

There were no panels or keynotes to get to. Just conversations, food, sightseeing, laughter and time together. Because conferences are also about the relationships built between the sessions.

The person you meet over coffee. The conversation that continues on a bus. The professional connection that becomes something much bigger after everyone goes home. And that is how four days of GCHRA26 came to an end.

Learning. Connection. Culture. Africa. What an experience.

Day Three was also about something that sits at the heart of GCHRA. Africa. Delegates arrived in colour, culture and pieces of home, representing different countries, traditions and identities from across the continent and beyond.

After days spent discussing how Africa competes globally, Culture Day was a reminder that our future does not require us to leave behind what makes us distinct. Between the Masterclasses came pictures, laughter, conversations and some of the most colourful moments of GCHRA26.

Different backgrounds. Different cultures. Different journeys. One GCHRA community.

After two days of big conversations, Day Three was about getting practical.

Across six Masterclasses, delegates moved into smaller rooms to go deeper, ask questions and work through what transformation actually looks like inside their organisations.

EB Novak, HiBob: From Prompts to Performance, exploring how leaders can use Claude to think, write and make better decisions at executive level.

David Tsey, PwC Ghana: Practical steps for driving workforce transformation in the age of AI.

Melody Mukhwana, Humainly AI: Technology Is Ready. Are Your People?, looking at why successful AI adoption is ultimately an HR and people challenge, not simply a technology one.

Claire Fielding, AIRINC: What really makes talent move, using cost of living, housing and hardship data to make smarter global mobility decisions.

Jeffery Mac Boham, GCHRA: AI in Action, focused on frameworks, tools and techniques organisations can use to move from being AI-averse to practically AI-enabled.

Ayman Rizk, HR Capsules: Leading with Purpose, exploring the foundational steps required for effective leadership in today’s workplace.

The rooms felt different from the main conference. Laptops were open, conversations were closer, and the focus shifted from “What is changing?” to “What do we actually do about it?” Because inspiration matters, but the real value begins when people leave with something they can apply.
