Did you shoot off this weekend? 🎆

It’s important to know how to properly of fireworks. Throwing away leftover debris, duds, or even unused fireworks can be dangerous to you, the individuals who handle your waste, and the environment.

💧Make sure to soak any used, unused, or misfired fireworks completely in a bucket of water overnight.
🛍Wrap the soaked fireworks. Use trash bags, Ziploc, or plastic wrap so that the wet explosives don't dry out.
🚮 Place fireworks in regular household trash.
🚫Fireworks cannot be recycled or composted.

🚮Small single use batteries can be discarded in your regular trash, these include AA, AAA, 9V, D and C batteries.
🚫Never place rechargeable and lithium batteries in your recycling or trash containers.
🔥Batteries are the number one cause of fires at solid waste facilities, and contain hazardous materials that need to be properly disposed of.
