It's been filling offering hope to Early Care and Education professionals at Head Start PICA-U for the last two days.

The wealth of wisdom in these shared learning spaces were unmatched and what a gift to facilitate conversations that create opportunities for reflective dialogue.

We HOPE for a great 2026/2027 school year to all educators, families, and children!

PINE Conference Session Spotlight 🌲

Rethinking Roughhousing
Saturday, September 19

Roughhousing is often seen as something adults need to stop—but active, physical play can also support children’s development when it is guided safely and intentionally.

This is just one of the sessions available at the 2026 PINE Conference.

Wrapped up an 18-Hour Trauma-Responsive Care training series for Infants/Toddlers this weekend with Carrie Zelin Johnson, an amazing co-trainer and Early Childhood Leader!

Appreciate the educators who stuck with us for three Saturdays this Summer. đź«

This training is a needed resource and investment in the field of early care and education. The hope is to see access expanded for professionals across Minnesota, equipping them with tools to provide responsive, compassionate care for children affected by trauma.

Reflecting on this concept of early relationships from First3Years || Texas Association For Infant Mental Health, we continue to raise awareness that every single moment of connections strengthen and build healthier brains.

When little ones spend these precious moments of life bonding with the caregivers who love them most, they are building the base for strong, positive, healthy relationships in adulthood.

Co-regulation before Self-regulation.

Young children will burrow our calm before they learn to calm and care for their emotions.

Young Children will develop Self-regulation through consistent moments of connections with trusted adults who comfort, soothe, and help them make sense of stressful situations.

Overtime, these shared experiences become internalized skills.

Think about one calming strategy you have used recently. How would you use that for Co-regulation with littles?

It was full circle last week Summer Leadership Institute sharing how collective ways of being uplifts our field, shifting the narrative from the "single story" to "the story of we" in systems designed to disrupt us with individualism.

We left grounded in the realization that our field is also built on multigenerational wealth of wisdom, experiences, care, and connections!

The conversations, the hope, the environment was fueled by a group of people who care deeply about young children and their families.
