A great few days at the 2026 MASMS Conference! 🎓🏫

The IEA team enjoyed connecting with educational facility professionals from across Minnesota, catching up with industry partners and taking part in a packed schedule of learning and networking.

We were also proud to have two IEA team members present during the conference:

What a great week at the 2026 Minnesota Chief Engineers Guild Conference!

IEA’s Amy Satterfield has been part of the conference planning committee for many years, so it is always rewarding to see everything come together.

This year was extra special. Amy presented “Charging Ahead Safety: Managing Lithium Risks in Facilities” and was also recognized with a 2026 MNCEG Service Award! Congratulations, Amy—very well deserved! 🏆

IEA’s Jeff Athmann also supported the Games4Grads scholarship fundraiser and ended up winning the Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament. Way to go, Jeff! ♠️

Thank you to MNCEG and everyone who helped make this year’s conference such a success. The knowledge, collaboration and friendships within this organization are what make the event so valuable each year.

IEA Safety was pleased to attend the Minnesota Chief Engineers Guild tour of Hastings City Hall today!
__
This unique event offered a firsthand look at the extensive restoration and modernization efforts underway to preserve the historic 1871 Hastings City Hall building. Attendees learned about masonry restoration, dome preservation, HVAC system upgrades, boiler plant removal, and the integration of City Hall’s heating system with upgraded boilers.

A special thank you to Charlie Judge, City of Hastings Facility Manager, for providing a great informational presentation and tour of the renovation projects. His insight helped highlight both the challenges and successes of modernizing critical building systems while preserving the character and historical significance of this landmark public facility.

Thank you to the Minnesota Chief Engineers Guild for hosting this valuable opportunity to learn, connect, and explore an important municipal restoration project.
