Deica Johnson is a Community Navigator serving Greater New York. She obtained her Master of arts degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology and a minor in Human Relations. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a Minor in Criminal Justice. Deica has a professional history serving various populations in need where she provided education, advocacy, and direct services. Her profession
al experiences prompted her to give birth to her consulting company, Making a Change(MAC), where she serves as president and founder. MAC is a community pillar for individuals with Developmental Disabilities is an innate desire that she attributes to her personal life journey. She is a mother of two adult male children, one of which is diagnosed with Autism at a young age. Deica often reflects on the hardships she experienced as a young mother navigating New York services to acquire the community support needed to assist in her son's progression. Her dedication to establishing services specific to her son's needs has enabled him to live an enriched life of increased independence, health and wellness, communication, and socialization. Deica's motto is "to empower individuals and their advocates with meaningful connections through the community." A service that she has navigated through herself, and she is willing and able to help others do the same.
