: After deciding to be intentional about my life (personally and professionally) 9 months ago, I was offered my first paid opportunity outside of my own business.
I didn't apply for anything. I didn't interview for anything. I didn't actively have to seek anything.
A friendship turned family showed my business page to her mom. This second mom to me showed my business page to a friend of hers. This friend owns the business I now have been blessed to be apart of, which is a Black-woman employment solutions agency.
They say it's not about what you know, but who you know. I disagree. It's about:
What you know about yourself,
Who you know,
AND who is willing to support your vision to the extent that they will advocate on your behalf, unconditionally.
This is motivation to consistently be yourself because someone is watching and someone believes in you. The way you speak about your vision and your dreams matter. You have chosen the right path. It's just a matter of time before the right people can step in and help you navigate your journey.
