"I know many folks dread the winter season and colder months. It seems odd to some that I favor the cold. Since I was a young girl I always had a deep appreciation and love for the brisk air and snowfall. But my utmost favorite would have to be the autumn season which is slowly coming to a close as the last of the leaves wither away and fall to the ground.
š
Isnāt it interesting that weāve taken the autumn season and coined it āfallā ?
We tend to gravitate toward the springing of things, and the birth of something new. The spring approaches and we find ourselves romanced by the budding flowers and trees. The sun seems to beam a bit longer and the daylight clings to the sky a tad more.
For someone who suffers from hay fever season (allergies) I lament this time of year as it brings on sneezing, sinus headaches and watery eyes for weeks to come. I find it difficult to enjoy this time of year. But I do SEE the beauty in itā¦and I desperately attempt to enjoy the spring despite this physically uncomfortable time for me.
I wonder why the leaves fall and wither away? The flowers and vegetation begins to wilt and we consider this a dead season. The sun doesnāt visit as long each day, the trees and skies have a grayish look to them.
I implore you to search for the delight and allure in living in the fall and winter when change comes to us! A change that pulls at the strings of the heart you did not want tugged.
Perhaps this season is a reminder of a loved one that no longer is here to celebrate the holidays with. Or maybe you experienced loss in a different way- a job- a friendship that ran itās course- children who are transitioning into adult hood and you feel as though they donāt āneedā you as much as they once did.
š
The fall is a time of pruning. Nature takes itās course and begins the process of āfallingā or dropping off. Trees, twigs, and shrubs go through a cycle of death and fade away.
Rest assured, as pruning takes place and it does so painfully sometimes. Be encouraged⦠a rebirth of a new season is on the horizon. What once was, will no longer be. Yes, you should mourn loss, whether the passing of someones life, a pet, a relationship that ended, a job, or a friendship that is no longer what it was.
Nuzzle into the falling away of your season, marvel at the wonder of leaves changing colors, snow falling from the sky and blanketing the mountains and streets into a sheet of white.
See the phenomenon of EACH season. Be hopeful for what is to come.
BUT BE PRESENT- lest you miss out on this falling away.
š
To everything there is a season"
