Koysman Engineering, a growing Civil Engineering Design Firm in Sunset Park Brooklyn seeking a dynamic, analytical accounting professional with progressive experience in accounting to oversee and manage the accounting function of the business. The accounting manager will report to the Project Manager and have a direct line of communication with the New York City School Construction Authority.
Responsibilities
• Oversee and manage day to day operations, including but not limited to receivables, payroll, budget, timesheets, and invoicing.
• Manage financial and regulatory reporting.
• Strong understanding and application of GAAP, experience in interpreting and applying accounting and regulatory standards for financial accounting and reporting.
• Assist in bi-weekly payroll management and tracking.
• Manage and supervise staff including training and performance reviews.
• Develop, monitor and enforce policies and procedures, internal controls and compliance to regulatory requirements.
• Manage both internal and external audits.
• Provides customer service to internal and external parties to enable the organization to operate in an effective and efficient manner; achieving shared organizational objectives and mission.
• Special projects and ad hoc reporting as required.
Job Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field
• Six (6) years of full-time experience
• Three (3) years of experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity
• Must be able to multitask and produce accurate work
• Experience with School Construction Authority is preferred
• Accounting degree
• Strong analytical skills
• Solid attention to detail
• Hands on payroll processing and understanding of payroll regulations
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Preferred
Six years of finance experience in, city planning, urban development, engineering, architecture or related area; of which three years must have been in an administrative or managerial capacity in design, engineering, construction, city planning or urban development; or satisfactory combination of education or experience.
Competitive
Salary Range: $95,000.00 - $108,000.00
