Better late than never for these new years gifts for my clients 😅. As someone who is attempting to balance family, sleep, and a business– I'm pretty proud I was only a month late and just in time for Galentine's Day. I love finding a woman-owned business to partner with for my gifts each year, and even more thrilled this one was co-founded by my past intern/current collaborator & friend. Tori Farley and her team at Center Street Soap Co are getting into Whole Foods Markets across the country, being interviewed on local news, and texting me to ask if I associate any scents with the Arizona desert (spoiler alert? 😬 ) I was so excited to share this business with the women I work with, and so pleased with the final result. Thank you Tori & Joy!

I've recently had amazing conversations with other small agency owners about the importance of turning down opportunities that do not progress our company's vision or help us feel authentic. That's why I loved reading about Chiamaka Ojechi (co-founder of paq) and her journey thanks to a new series called “Movers and Makers” from Mailchimp & Co and It's Nice That.

I’ve been in Mailchimp & Co for 2 years, and my favorite part is being connected to other agency owners and freelancers; it feels 100% more collaborative than it does competitive. I highly recommend to any agency or freelancer offering email marketing as a service to join!

As we celebrate AAPI Heritage Month throughout May, it’s important we find ways we can uplift the AAPI community and . A great place to start is by supporting small businesses.

As an AAPI woman-owned marketing consultancy, we wanted to highlight a few of our favorite small businesses run by AAPI women. One reason we love supporting small businesses is because small businesses almost always support other small businesses. Follow to discover talented makers from New York State, the most unique gifts, and eclectic handmade creations you never knew you needed. Owner and curator Perri is a one-woman-show supporting dozens of small makers and artisans through her fabulous online store and pop up shop . The WonderMart was dreamed up in 2018 while drinking 🍷 and wanting to support her own maker/artisan friends. Perri’s idea quickly turned into a passion as she now helps local brands thrive by giving them a platform to connect with enthusiastic and diverse customers. (Did we mention she does this all while maintaining a day job as an office manager for a design firm in NYC... .) If you take one thing from her story, this is it: live a life of purpose and passion while helping others along the way. 📷:

Real marketing question we received & our answer. 〰️ Use Surveys or create a Google Form and send it out to your best customers/clients. Ask them specific questions about their lifestyles (like their age, what they do for a living), their purchasing behaviors (do they love to shop online, how do they discover new brands), how they spend their time (favorite social networks, events they attend) and what reasons they have for supporting you and your brand (story, price, problems you are solving). Then you can start building a few personas that represent potential customers that are better than the rest and focus your marketing efforts on reaching them specifically. Hopefully you’ll find some similarities between the survey responses and draw some helpful conclusions on who you should be targeting and what motivates them to spend their money. It always helps to throw in a gift (like a % promo code for your online shop) to thank your customers for taking the time to complete the survey.
