A beautiful piece about our beloved Toni Morrison during her lesser-known work as a book editor. "[Morrison] was a caretaker of a blossoming universe of Black literature, stewarding a cadre of writers and thinkers who would change the world." 🙌

Great article on the work of ghostwriter, Michelle Burford. It's a lot more than just regurgitating one's personal story, it's about the authenticity of the story being told. The reader demands it.

“Readers just want the truth, particularly in a memoir and they can really sense when they’re getting it.”

Michelle Burford has carved out a niche helping famous Black women like Cicely Tyson, Alicia Keys and Gabby Douglas write their memoirs. But she can tell many kinds of stories, including her own.
