I need you to hear this part, because nobody posts it.

Wendy Amara | Life & Business Coach designed a room filled with women who were hungry for their more. Women with big ideas who didn’t just want to be inspired, they wanted to build. And because she built that room with intention, I got to emcee the entire experience.

Here’s what I did not do in that room. I did not pitch. I did not sell. Not once.

I served. I connected. I made every woman in that room feel seen.

And that room still put $4,000 in confirmed business in my hands, with about $7,500 more in motion.

This is where so many women fall short, and I say it with love because I used to think it too. We walk into rooms asking what the room is going to pay us to show up. But the room pays the woman who builds community first.

The woman who builds real connections first. The money is never the reason. The money is the receipt.

So thank you, Wendy, for building a room like that on purpose. Rooms like that don’t happen by accident.

Save this post for the next time somebody offers you a stage with no check attached to it. Before you say no, remember what a room can do when you work it right.

The reality is…. NOBODY FUNDED THIS.

No investors. No family money. No sponsor writing the check so I could look successful on the internet. Every room, every city, every brunch, every flight, funded by me and the women who believed early and bought a ticket.

There are nights I am tired in a way sleep does not fix. There are mornings I check the numbers and have to talk myself back into the woman I decided to be.

And I would still choose this. Because a woman walked up to me last Friday, on one of the biggest nights of my career so far, and said, “I started my business because I saw you not quit.”

That is the return on investment nobody can put in a deck.

If you are building yours with no net right now, I see you. Keep going. We are the proof it can be done.

I was not the girl anyone was betting on.

Hell’s Kitchen NYC. Puerto Rican parents who gave me everything except a roadmap. No money, no connections, no blueprint. Just a girl with a big heart and the audacity to believe her life was going to look different.

There were years I worked jobs that drained me while dreaming at night about rooms I had never been invited into. I was an essential worker during COVID, showing up for everybody while quietly wondering when it was going to be my turn.

So I stopped waiting for the room and started building it. Fifty women around a table. Then a hundred. Then 25+ events, 20,000+ women, and a movement I built with my own two hands and no investors.

Friday night I stood on a stage as a 100 Women of Color honoree, a three-time award-winning founder, and delivered the congratulatory speech. The girl who was overlooked!

And I need you to hear this: nothing about my beginning predicted my now. The only thing that ever separated me from the woman reading this was that I refused to stop.

I said I wanted to build a movement, and I meant it.

Boss Babes & Brunch began with a belief that women need spaces where they can show up fully, where their ideas are taken seriously, their stories are heard, and the woman sitting next to them might become a friend, collaborator, or the connection that changes everything.

As we take EVOLVE to San Diego, Orlando, and Chicago in 2027, I’ve been thinking about what happens after each event. The conversations continue. Women go home with new courage, new connections, and a clearer sense of what’s possible for them. Those stories deserve to be seen, too.
