As of January 1st, 2024, according to Local Law 154 of 2021, many new buildings will have to run their utilities fully independently of fossil fuels. This means heating, cooking, hot water, and household appliances in new one and two-family homes, as well as new buildings less than seven stories tall, must all have electrified connections. The implementation will be phased over several years, so stay on top of the deadlines.
