Ever have that feeling that your work is undervalued by your colleagues?
Remember that when you are hiring for your marketing needs! It's common to over-expect when hiring for a role you do not understand. It's equally common to have someone promise you the world and then underdeliver.
EXAMPLE:
If you are expecting your social media manager to be as fantastic a designer as they are at copywriting, researching, strategizing, and data tracking...you will most likely be settling on the results of one or more of those expectations.
Why?
Because each one of those skill sets is a full-blown job!
Depending on what you can budget, you may need to work with a catch-all. Just make sure you're aware of what you're asking, identify what is most important for you, hire based on that strength, and allow grace in the remaining.
That respect will be reflected in a healthy working relationship and your results!
