This is my advanced PD Training called “Between Motion and Emotion.”
Its focus is exploring the connection between and autonomous social-emotional learning.

With the wonderful team of educators at Language and Laughter Studio in Brooklyn, NY, we used this practical approach to research the origin of ideas, initiative, invention, and independence in today’s young children.

We identified co-dependence, control, and permission as the hurdles to children’s decreasing self-guided, independent, natural drive for discovery, curiosity, and play.
We then did some research on how to create an educators’ culture and school environment that offers space, time, and tools for children to grow and develop away from adults’ anxiety, direction, and instruction.

Thank you to the school’s founder, , for this huge opportunity for collective growth in early childhood education!

What a sensational 2026 first quarter! 💥

I met with returning clients to continue the training work, focusing on “Motion and Emotion” and exploring movement as a foundational, universal language.

I brought the workshop “Your Child Has Superpowers!” to parents and families at schools I’ve been proudly serving for a while.

Finally, my PD session on “Sensory Learning and Movement” (in custom-made formats) reached new clients (and some old friends ❤️) in Northern California, Connecticut, New Jersey, and South Florida! 😎

Thank you to all the extraordinary teams of educators and teachers I had the joy to meet along the way! 🙌🙌🙌

I will need all their energy for Q2, when I will complete deep mentoring work for schools in Queens, NY; Maryland (Baltimore and Oxon Hill); and Coconut Grove (Miami, FL).
I will also work with an amazing, huge team of home-visiting professionals in Connecticut. Can’t wait!

Among the “100 Languages of Children” (Loris Malaguzzi), there are 2 “languages” that are universal and precious for children’s healthy development: sensory exploration and movement.

With the brilliant, international educators of , we started exploring the natural, independent processes of “learning how to learn” and “learning how to think” by practically hopping into the body and mind of children and discovering how these two languages (senses and movement), which every individual on the planet owns and shares, give access to the ability of creating knowledge autonomously.

Thank you to Tessa’s Marketing team for taking and sharing these beautiful photos.

Welcome and thank you to the Q4-2025 new clients!
It’s always a joy meeting open-minded teams of early childhood educators who are eager to explore childhood, feel engaged by young children’s current challenges and needs, and seek ways to evolve the educator’s role to assist children on and along their individual learning and development pathways.

Thank you also to the many returning clients who enjoyed my “advanced” PDs and to those who have chosen a long-term mentoring and consulting collaboration with me to improve their quality of service to children.

2025 has been an excellent year for , as a growing movement of courageous early childhood administrators and educators is ready to investigate new ways to support children in “Learning how to Learn, Learning how to Think, and Learning how to Use Knowledge.”

I’m ready for 2026. I’m nearly booked out for Winter and Spring, and you can start booking your Summer and Back-to-School PDs by January 5.
I look forward to seeing you all with new questions, stories, and smiles in the new year! ✨

Here are all the Q3 New Clients! 🙌
Thank you for the courage and trust to book dynamic, hands-on trainings that can be brought back into the classroom for a rewarding and authentic child-centered work.
Every PD session has been a unique opportunity for me to learn more in detail about the new needs, patterns, and challenges young children have been experiencing inside and outside schools. Your stories and observations are fueling the research for new ideas and solutions to make the services for early childhood more meaningful and purposeful every day.
I look forward to continuing the work and the research with each of you! Always believe in children. 🙏

After two great PD sessions, with the handout, I shared a testimonial form with the personnel of Rebecca School.
Here is what happened:

★★★★★
Tom offered an amazing professional development day to our staff at the Rebecca School. His PD is rooted in human development and the need to be connected in a meaningful relationship with materials and people. His philosophies aligned with the DIR Floortime® model that our school uses, and many of the activities were not only for professional development – they can be carried over to the classroom and beyond. 10 out of 10.

★★★★★
One word- perfection!
In my 25 years of education, hands down the Best professional development session.
BRAVO… ENCORE!

★★★★★
Embodied Learning was not a typical ice breaker/team building experience. Tom was incredibly engaging, and the experience produced genuine fun! Whether you are a sensory motor novice, seasoned OT, or anything in between, you’ll be sure to learn and re-experience play in a way that will take you back to your childhood. Would highly recommend for your next PD training!

★★★★★
I had the privilege of attending Tom’s presentations twice, and each experience was remarkable. His background and communication style captivated me when he first visited our company. His creativity and energy are truly inspiring.
I appreciate how his activities are engaging, but also meaningful and purposeful. They foster cohesiveness and social interaction while highlighting individual uniqueness.
Tom’s presentations encourage us to view our surroundings from new perspectives and see everyday situations as opportunities for learning and connection, especially in supporting our children.

★★★★★
This presentation was undoubtedly my favorite I’ve had in this field, and left me inspired to try new approaches to hopefully be able to use to help both others and myself!

★★★★★
Tom’s training is recommended 10/10. He is engaging, funny, and interesting. It was easy to pay attention to. I did not feel judged or preached to. I was able to participate, have fun and enjoyment, and learn through an active, physical experience that also included connecting with my colleagues.

Mission accomplished! 🌞
The Back-to-school Professional Development Tour is in the books.

📈 Between 8/14 and 9/5, I had the joy and pleasure of delivering 16 epic PD training sessions to 707 early childhood educators, administrators, occupational therapists, and speech pathologists in FL, MD, VA, DC, NJ, CT, and NY.

🎈 We worked intensively on the contrast between control (direct instruction) and contemporary young children's needs for space, time, and freedom to make autonomous discoveries and build competence and confidence in independent and collaborative learning.

🥇 Thank you to all the participants and clients, old and new, for your smiles and dedicated engagement!

📣 Bookings for 2026 are now open! Check the link in the comments for inquiries and reservations.

Always trust children.
Have a great school year! 🌺

Today, we celebrate our new clients for Q1 of 2025! 🌷
Thank you for your trust, dedication, and commitment to improving the quality of your faculty’s and organization’s services to young children.

New clients always help broaden the spectrum of our industry’s needs and trends, add relevant narratives and research content from the day-to-day life in preschools and childcare centers, and inspire the creation of new PDs and workshops.

In these first months of 2025, our new clients confirmed an alarming need for supporting young children’s sensory-motor development as a crucial key for “learning how to learn” and “learning how to think” autonomously.

By request of new, passionate, specialized leads and clients, we also created a version of “Sensory Learning and Movement” PD exclusively for therapists.

Our new Q1 clients showed great interest in shifting their organization’s pedagogical identities towards a more child-centered curriculum: “Making Sense of The Reggio Approach” we launched last October 2024 is in high demand in all its versions, PD, Workshop, and Ongoing Consultation.

Finally, successfully expanded to !
We can’t wait to be back in Miami and Fort Lauderdale and meet many more new schools and educators in the upcoming months!

To the 🇦🇺 Australian ECE administrators in my network,
Last week’s ABC Four Corners one-hour special “Betrayal of Trust” caused discomfort among many respected and respectable early childhood professionals and organisations.
When even a tiny portion of a sector is faulty, the whole industry suffers the consequences and has to deal with the public’s reaction.
After the official statements, the best response must be practical and child-centred.

Safety first: Protect your services’ educators. Please don’t leave them alone when dealing with unleashed, overanxious individuals who, more than ever, are heated by explosive social media and WhatsApp groups.

Don’t wait for things to improve: Be an actor of change.
The TV program gave Australia’s honest, passionate, and dedicated early childhood education community a huge opportunity to grow confidence in their professional competence and build trust through appreciation for the incredible gifts each child brings to their centres daily.

Help your team
1. Showcase professional documentation of the great work children at your centres do;
2. Spread joy and awareness about how infants and toddlers learn how to learn independently;
3. Educate families about the incredibly ingenious ways young children navigate the world autonomously and learn how to think;
4. Support every child while they take risks as part of their natural development and learn how to use experience and knowledge.

Finally, show that educators at your centres trust and believe in children.
Show that they can learn from children.
Show that they can listen to children and that children at your centres feel safe, confident, and heard.

I’ll come to Australia in July and August (see details in BIO). Before then, please get in touch via DM or email if your team needs support. Cheers!
