200,000 miles from Earth, mid-flight on Artemis II, a reporter asked ifastronaut Victor Glover had a message for the people back home. Looking back out our tiny planet in comparison to the vast cosmos, he realized that we’re all on the same ship.
He called Earth an oasis, a created place in the middle of an endless nothing, and said the thing most of us know but keep forgetting: we have to get through this together.
We honor our identities, our wounds, our individual stories, and we should. But there’s a difference between honoring those things and being consumed by them. The work is healing enough to participate in something larger than your own story.
