Got a Crucible card scraper from crucibletool to see what all the fuss was about:

1. Removing it from the white envelope and immediately scraping my benchtop - "wow, pretty sharp, nice!"

2. Turning it over- "huh, is that a sticker"

3. L eyelid twitching, I start to peel off the sticker- it's a magnet! Joy resumes.

Thanks, you guys- it takes the smallest details to make things not suck. The magnet shall have an honored place next to my Lost Art Press tiny shop book library! I was kinda hoping for the decoder ring though...

My latest kink, it seems, is acquiring very specific professional adhesive tapes (mostly 3m). It's a tiny bulwark against our sh*tty knockoff culture, a tiny reminder of the industrial powerhouse that we once were, when giants like Bell Labs and Eastman Kodak roamed the land (burying poisonous treasures for their descendants to find as they struggled with their cheap ersatz packing tape)

For my birthday this year, I bought myself a pair of real scissors. I don't know much about shears (so don't come at me), but they cut real nice.

I built a chair. This is all wind-felled wood from Kentucky- seat, arms and back are hackberry and the rest is oak. It's stained pretty dark to chill out the craaazy grain on the hackberry- the wood tends to pick up bacterial staining, so a rather mottled color. Stick chair design by - buys their books! Super comfortable. One of these days I will make it to Covington...
