I was quite successful in my 4H career with my projects between the years 2004-2012. Adding to this, I was an assistant to a local professional photographer’Christine’s Photography’ beginning in 2007. Working here and there for her with portrait photography and wedding photography really helped me understand the more technical and professional side of being a portrait photographer, and ultimately
taught me portrait photography was not for my soul as a career. Much of my adult life has been much more sparse in my pursuit of the perfect shot. Dabbling with livestock photography, senior pictures, and promotional images. Over time I began searching for a creative outlet, which I found in painting. However, as a mother, wife, animal caregiver and business co-owner, my ability to create the paintings I wanted proved more difficult than I had anticipated. My husband and I were in a bad accident and it has left me disabled. I have hardware now in my neck and ankle joint (talus) which is also undergoing avascular necrosis and rheumatoid arthritis and 70% lose of movement. This makes certain activities difficult and painful. After some deep thought and realizations about myself, I have rediscovered my love of being behind a camera. I’ve came to the understanding that I view the world in a unique way that I can then translate to others via a camera. This is a gift I have now embraced and want to share with my friends, family and fans from anywhere. I have little interest in staged portrait photography, although I am very capable of doing it when asked. I prefer to capture things as I see them in the moment. Candids, nature, landscape, animals, action, etc is where my talent flourishes. I hope to increase my outdoor activities as I become more invested in this hobby. To push my limits to achieve my photography goals and beyond! I have no real end goal with this. I enjoy entering my images into contests. I enjoy teaching others about it and I really love being a judge and being constructive about how I view an image. My idea of photography is to know all the rules and to break them, artfully! I hope you enjoy viewing my photos! If you would like me to take photos for you, feel free to reach out!
