A huge thank you to my Uncle Andy McClare for an awesome surprise in the mail! He sent me a Montana Wolf Trapper sweatshirt signed by the cast of the History Channel’s Mountain Men. As someone who enjoys the outdoors and trapping lifestyle, this gift means a lot. I was beyond excited when I opened it and can’t thank him enough for thinking of me!

🎣 When Salmon Attack! 🎣

I think this salmon had this planned out from the start. He lined that hook and dodger up perfectly when he came off the line! 🤣

Some fish just don’t want their picture taken. After a good fight, this one made a clean escape and left us with nothing but a story and a laugh. That’s fishing—sometimes the fish wins!

It was finally a calm, beautiful day on Sebago! The fishing was steady and consistent from start to finish, and the bite is only getting better as we move into June. We put some great fish in the boat and enjoyed perfect conditions on the water.

The fishing is heating up every day, and we still have some prime dates available in June. If you’ve been thinking about getting out on the lake, now is the time to book your trip!

We switched things up today and moved to a different pond to target rainbow trout. The change paid off with a steady bite and plenty of action throughout the day. The smaller pond also gave us a break from the wind, making for much more comfortable fishing conditions. It’s always nice when a new game plan comes together and puts some fish in the boat!

It started out nice on Sebago this morning, but like every other day, the wind eventually decided to show up. We battled through it and managed to put some salmon and lake trout in the boat. Once the wind picked up and trolling became a challenge, we switched gears and started jigging. The fish cooperated, and we were able to keep the rods bent despite the conditions.

Some days you have to adapt to what the lake gives you, and today was a perfect example. A little persistence and a change of tactics made for another successful day on the water.

Sebago threw just about every kind of weather at us, but we stayed after it and made it happen. Through the wind, rain, and changing conditions, we kept grinding and put some fish in the boat. Best part of the day was getting this young man his first trout — moments like that are what it’s all about. 🎣

Keeping bait in the tank can be one of the biggest challenges of guiding, but days like today make it worth it. Checked the shiner trap and had a pretty good haul waiting for me. There’s something rewarding about turning one small baitfish into a big fish and an even bigger smile on a client’s face. That’s what it’s all about.
