FIGID Press was created by author and publisher John Graham in 2010. FIGID is an acronym for Finally I Got It Done, which is how John felt after completing his first children's book, No Sweets For Santa. Over the years the company has evolved from just putting out a few books to an overall creative support service. John's passion is helping new creators get the support they need to be successful a

nd this has created events for Indianapolis area creators. The INDYpendent Show (www.INDYpendentShow.com) has hosted local creators since 2013 who share their knowledge with others of all skill levels and ages. The INDYpendent Network was created to promote local creators and their services to each other.

July might be ending, but it's not too late to celebrate Christmas in July with my first book, No Sweets For Santa. Created with the talented Mark Mariano, this book follows Santa's adventures when he swears off sweets on Christmas Eve. He's a hungry guy until he reaches a special house that leaves him pizza.

It's international friendship day and I recommend you read this book to a friend. I created this book based on a song my mother used to sing to us when pushing us on the swings. As a father, I realized that swinging on a swing evoked the same thrill and feeling, no matter your race, religion, ability, or family structure. I wanted to express that to kids in this book and also put the song in the back so they could sing along.

I've been accused of creating books with such a small customer base that I'll never sell a copy. While that might be true of this one, I'm happy to have created a special book just for crew members of The Brilliant Lady and The Scarlet Lady ships. These books contain pictures of appreciation, team information, and pages to record their adventures onboard.
