Dianna's Design Studio-Handcrafted Whimsies Retired early from the 9-to-5 and traded an office for a design studio where my creative whims come to life! I guess you could say photography is in my blood.

Now based at Lake McConaughy, serving Western Nebraska & Northeast Colorado—the lake, windmills and sandhills are my inspiration! So, after so much encouragement from friends and family, I have finally decided to go “semi-pro”. I remember my dad taking pictures back in the day when FILM was the only option. My favorite photo he took was a self-portrait of himself in about 1976 playing chess agains

t … himself. A creative idea with a tri-pod, a single click of the photo, only a half turn on the film advance dial and then another single click , then anxiously waiting a week for the picture to be developed to see if it turned out. Things are certainly different today, and so am I. Photography has become my obsession. It has been what I do in my “off hours” to express myself creatively and to freeze frame memories for us to remember later. I have enjoyed learning the art and science of photography on my family and friends, and am confident enough now to branch out and start providing photographer services to others. I believe everyone should have access to quality photographs, so I am committed to keeping my services priced fairly as I continue to learn the trade. I hope you love the photos you see on my page. I would not consider myself a professional-yet, but I am actively working towards that goal. I would love to work with you to stop time, if only for a moment, and capture creative memories to last beyond our lifetimes.

✨ Here is My Latest Whim ✨

Handcrafted Whimsy was born from a simple idea for my retirement: spend my time creating whatever inspires me. This little adventure is all about me following my whims and turning them into unique handcrafted creations. Whether it's beadwork like my recent plant wand creations, leatherwork, engraving, resin art, or something completely new, I love having time to learn new techniques and find ways to combine them to create unique pieces that build on one another.

My latest challenge to myself has been learning custom engraving and then I added resin art to my plans…and I'm super excited to share my very first creation—a custom engraved cutting board with a resin accent!

I'm now ready to start taking custom orders and would love the opportunity to create something special for you.

Some changes coming to Dianna's Design's Photography!!

As I step into my retirement era, or my "re-wiring" era as I like to say-something unexpected (and a little fun) has been happening!

I’m excited to share that my I am changing up my focus a bit--into a full creative design studio.

Photography will always have my heart and I do plan to continue those services, but this next chapter is about letting my creativity run a little more wild. I’ve been rediscovering the joy of making things just because they make me smile… and it turns out, I really love creating these whimsical, playful, and meaningful pieces.

So alongside photography, I’ll be opening up a little “side shop” filled with handcrafted goodies—tiny sparks of whimsy, charm, and a whole lot of fun.

You’ll find a mix of mediums like beadwork, laser cutting and engraving on wood, leather, and metal, customized hats and keychains, holiday ornaments, kid-friendly treasures, and whatever else happens to dance through my imagination.

With this shift, a name change is also on the horizon—something that better captures all of my creative whims. So don't be suprised when Diannas Design Photography is replaced. And speaking of whims… many of these pieces will be just that. One-of-a-kind or short-lived designs that come and go as inspiration strikes. So if something catches your eye, let me know! It might be a blink-and-you-miss-it kind of creation.
