Sales and Business Development Account Manager

We are looking for an individual who has demonstrated sales leadership results. We are seeking applicants who are problem solvers as well as excellent communicators. Previous experience in Janitorial or Food Service distributor sales areas is a plus, but not required.
Position Overview:
• Present and sell company products to current and potential customers while also focusing on new business development
• Responsible for sourcing, developing, and maintaining customer relationships by referrals, telephone canvassing, face to face cold calling, direct mail, email, and networking.
• Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity.
• Proactively seek opportunities to bid on contracts.
• Prepare presentations, proposals, bids, quotes, and sales contracts for customers.
• Identify , anticipate, and resolve customer concerns.
• Review accounts to maximize profitability; inform customers of price updates.
• Develop and implement special sales activities to reduce inventory.
• Follow-up for collection of payment when needed.
• Coordinate with management as well as customer service and purchasing, and other sales staff to accomplish the work required to close sales.
Job Skills and Requirements
• An ideal candidate will have 2+ years of business to business, outside sales experience with proven achievement of sales quotas. Experience in food service or jan/san distribution is also a plus. While industry/sales experience is preferred, consideration will be given to less experienced candidates with the right skills and competencies.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills – able to recognize and recall nuance from conversations as well as present written data/information in a concise, cogent format.
