I’m so proud of our Ice House on Main events team and their partnership with a local group to produce and expand this Fall market again this year in Historic Downtown Bryan, Texas.

Grateful to Whittlesey of Hibiscus & Honey for having the vision to create and grow the Fall market. And a special thanks to Brianna Long for being such an excellent events manager and collaborator for community. Jose and I are grateful for you and really proud of the way you continue to put Advent GX heritage preservation to work for community and economic development.

There's a hint of Fall in the air in Aggieland, football season has started, and businesses are finding their stride again after the familiar summer lull. Our college town bustle is back and we have much to celebrate!

That is exactly what Jose Quintana and I and our Advent GX team will be doing on November 21st at Ice House on Main during the annual Town & Gown community celebration in Historic Downtown Bryan, Texas.

This year we will put the spotlight on Texas A&M University - College of Agriculture and Life Sciences while celebrating both Texas A&M University and our area businesses.

So dig out your dancing shoes, ladies. Gentlemen, dust off those Texas tuxedos. We are going all out again for the 2024 Town & Gown Community Celebration. There will be dinner, dancing to live music, cocktails, and conversation...all inspired by the town and gown traditions of notable university communities such as Oxford and Cambridge.

From the very beginning, entrepreneurship and innovation have been central to our AdventGX approach to supporting community and economic development. In rural and underserved communities in particular, encouraging the entrepreneurial spirit within the local community can be a great long-term approach to creating jobs that are far less likely to be drawn away by the next city offering big incentives. At the very least, entrepreneurship is among the key strategies any community should use toward achieving economic vitality.

Jose Quintana has been supporting entrepreneurs since before he started Advent GX. I was as well…that’s actually how we met. Jose hired me to support communications for AdventGX and we discovered that he was providing technical assistance and business advising to many of the same start-ups I was serving with communications and strategy support.

Fast forward a few years and we formalized our support for entrepreneurs with the opening of the Innovation Underground (IU) in Historic Downtown Bryan, Texas.

From the earliest days of the IU, it was a global operation. Some of our first members were from the UK, Europe and South America. By putting them together with local artists, the creative class of freelancers, and a few social entrepreneurs, we had some of our earliest instances of the GX in AdventGX - that Global Exchange that makes for a rich quality of life and vibrant economic activity.

Today, the IU continues to grow and adapt operations to the needs of today’s innovators. AdventGX continues to encourage and promote entrepreneurs through our tech talks and other community events. And we love meeting new entrepreneurs and spurring these trailblazers down the path to success.

Here’s to celebrating the many entrepreneurs we’ve had the privilege to encourage and support over the years and to the amazing team that has made that support possible.

Tonight our founders Jose and Joan Quintana, together with our AGX team, will kick off our 20th anniversary celebration of Advent GX at Grand Stafford Theater in Historic Downtown Bryan, TX.

Over the next 12 months, we will look back on projects we’ve had the privilege to support, and the people and communities we have had the joy of sharing this journey with thus far.

We celebrate twenty years of community; twenty years of partnerships, friendships, innovation, art, music, events, gatherings, strategy building, communications planning, data modeling, entrepreneurship and more.

Be on the lookout as we share insights into the work we’ve done and continue to do to help communities and innovators flourish. And watch for batches of memories like this one…because we all know the power of a picture.

20 years!!!! Friends, we've been having the best time looking back and planning ahead for a year full of fun to celebrate the last 20 years of AdventGX adventures.

Truly, none of our efforts would be possible but for your support, care, investment, participation...we could go on and on. In short, you show up and that's why we can keep helping communities build vibrant economies through engaging events at amazing historic venues, sound strategy, data analytics, support for entrepreneurs, strategic communications, and more.

For our friends who are nearby, we hope you will join us as we kick-off our celebrations with a community Wine Wednesday at Grand Stafford Theater.
