The stairway of picture frames is FINISHED... now we just need to print the pictures and get them in before the wedding guests arrive...

I used black frames in various sizes and designs, and then a matching collection of aged wood frames in various sizes, and shadow boxes in the same wood for interest.

This client has 5 children so they have A LOT of family photos. In this area, we are sticking to events that took place on the farm. In the family room, we will showcase family trips, and in the library we will use vintage family photos. At the top of the steps is a landing with a fainting couch. In this area we will frame photos of the brides that have been married on the farm, three from the family so far! I will post pictures when we've finished with each area.

I like to have some sort of theme when doing a large collection of frames. That, or sticking to all black and white can unify a collection and make it look more upscale.

Just finished a fun desk for the teenage daughter of a client. Annie Sloan, duck egg blue for the base, with one of my favorite patterns stenciled over in Annie Sloan, old white, and a dry brushing of old white over the whole thing. Then just a little bit of sanding. I used a poly to seal it, since it will be used as a spot to paint nails and put on make-up. She loves it, and so do I, so much fun to do a fun pattern EVERYWHERE on a piece of furniture.

So, it's been a while since I've posted on this page, well, I'll be making up for that now because this will be a LONG one. It's been a crazy couple of years... shortly after having Caroline (baby #3), we had a house fire. The house was still standing, but had to be gutted and cleaned of damage, then completely re-done inside.

During this time, all of our belongings (including all of the supplies I use for furniture and crafting) that could be salvaged, were taken to storage. We were out of our home for about a year and a half, then came the insanity of moving back in with construction still going on (that's another story) and trying to sort through the deliveries of our items that came in no particular order or organization.

I really had zero creative energy, and any that I did muster went into trying to make our house a home again. I am finally getting to a point where I am almost finished with our house and have been taking on small projects for friends and family. The biggest is for a family friend who is hosting her daughter's wedding next month.

It started with a request to find a cool chandelier for the barn, and has turned into designing lighting for the barn, tents, and grounds. And updating her house for the guests that will be staying with them before the wedding. This has been a fun challenge as she is on a tight budget with 2 weddings in one year. So, the next few posts will be about her house and the various projects. Once this project is complete, I will get back into posting projects a bit more regularly.

First up, some photos of an old floor that I painted. Most of the floors have been re-finished, but funds ran out before tackling this art room turned guest room. I painted the floor with porch paint and then added a stencil that goes with the bedding we found for a daybed that I am painting.
