My (Berith’s) dear mom put our home phone in the Bryn Athyn directory a few years ago without my knowledge (a home phone we really only got to allay her old-fashioned heart) but we never use it and almost never know where the receiver is... I have finally corrected this at the source for 2020, but get so embarrassed thinking of all the people we have never called back or weren’t even able to leave a message on our almost always full voicemail 😬. I’m sure a Facebook message might not be the best route of correction to said audience - but it’s an attempt! We thank you so much as you are the backbone that has kept us chugging along, and aim for fewer unreturned calls in the future!

We just saw our first at our house yesterday!

Look familiar? That isn’t mud under that playground equipment – those are egg masses! And each one could mean 30-50 more invasive, destructive pests come spring.

In 2014 the spotted lanternfly was found in Berks County, probably brought in as eggs on a crate of stones imported from its native China.
