SAFER Grant

We are happy to announce we have been awarded $42,000 from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Staffing for Adequate Fire Emergency and Response (SAFER) program.

This money will specifically be used for training, including leadership and management training for all our officers, and training opportunities to meet the needs of our changing village- such as standpipe firefighting and low rise firefighting.

We are thankful to be chosen for this award, and we will share over the next four years how we utilize it to enhance our capabilities.

We are happy to announce we are the recipients of $425,000 in grant funding under the State of New York's V-Fire Program.

This funding will help support much needed renovations of our station, built in 1951 with its last major renovation in 1976.

Governor Hochul announced $25 million in capital funding for 65 volunteer fire departments and districts across New York State to improve facilities, response capabilities and emergency preparedness.

We are happy to support this organization which is bringing awareness to a vital issue on our country.

Just before midnight, the riders for this fundraiser will be stopping at our firehouse for a quick break while they ride to Long Island.

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Bob Stein, the longest serving member in the history of our department- 76 years of service for a department that is 86 years old.

Bob will certainly be missed. He was one of the last of a generation of citizens that built our village and our department. Our thoughts are with his family.
