Do I know that this summer we had some trouble keeping the shelves full?

Yep. Straight up. Closed a store, lost some great people and had some KEY vendors shutter. Huge food borne illness outbreaks, Racked up some debt, paid off some debt ect ect ect. I’m ready for 2027.

The downside of being a corner stone of the community and beloved by all (I should say most. Haters be hatin) is that we are a **very** public facing organization and when things are going awry people can see it. Such is life, we are all humans and stuff happens.

Thank god we are mostly millennials. We are good at scramble mode. Just like our eggs. Cheesy too…. Also like our eggs. Btw you know we sell cheese and eggs right? 🥚 🧀

Are we gonna cry about it? Nope. Just gonna keep
On keeping on. Might complain a little though. 😭

I think we are *mostly* recovered at this point.

The store is full and fresh! Lots of necessities and local goods are on display!

Happy first day of school Buckley!

We are opening at 9:30 so our team can take their kiddos to their first day! (Your welcome bus drivers, you don’t want to deal with these ones…. I promise)

In honor of it being the first day of school: Everyone gets 1 free apple today! Give it to your teacher, eat it, bake it, slice it for your lover, throw it at your enemies…… whatever. Once it leaves our store it’s not our responsibility.

Education for educations sake is quite the enriching life experience. Once the robots take over we can all be over educated philosophers and artists 🧑‍🎨 get em

I asked the team what I should chat about on social media today and their answer was (and I quote)

“Bringing the employees breakfast burritos. But not homemade and sealed for safety.”

Then they told me that Olipop was FINALLY back in stock!

I know I’ve spoken a lot about that some of our smaller vendors going out of business this year, but some of our larger vendors went out of business this year as well, and it has been quite the task rebuilding our lineup and finding which other distributors all of these favorite products are currently sitting with.

Some like Ollipop we’ve had to order directly actually so these came shipped directly from Ollipop to Buckley!

We’re just gonna keep getting better for you every single day. There will be ups there will be downs (and there’s been quite a few downs this year) but as long as you support us, we will keep supporting you.

About four years ago, my brother-in-law, Brian Tate got fed up with the fact that he couldn’t eat any cookies at Christmas because he realized he had an intolerance to gluten.

This was the true start of “Uncle Brian‘s Bakery” . If you know Brian, he’s a person that gets really, really really into his hobbies and he spent the last four years like a mad scientist in a lab perfecting the perfect gluten-free cookie. At a certain point, we saw him on a daily basis for taste tests and our kids had an unlimited supply of gluten-free cookies in the refrigerator and freezer.

It was about six months ago that he decided he would finally let us help him open his own gluten-free cookie company. We told him the only rule was that these cookies had to be so good that anyone would buy them not just people who are eating gluten-free and man oh man, did he deliver!

Brian is a Bonney Lake resident an employee of Rainier Fresh and  the owner of Uncle Brian’s Bakery, which is now based in Buckley.

Good morning,

I had a whole thing worked out where I was going to take a dinosaur hand puppet around the store and chomp on produce but alas…. My puppet did not arrive in time, maybe another time.

Anywho, I decided to get angry and run “Pats PI$& Off Potatoes” as our Friday deal! $1.99 for a 5lb bag of russets! While supplies last! 🥔

You know what really gets me? Paper straws. This one is controversial but I cannot stand them. If you’re a straw activist, I get it. Follow your inner monologue home fry but keep that soggy papery mess out of my mouth. 👄

If you’re not in the mood to be annoyed with me today you can always take part in our Happy Hermiston Melon celebration! Hermiston cantaloupes are only $2.49 each! We bought 700lbs of them so load up!

What makes me happy today? My old lady dog ate all
of her breakfast WITH her medicine 💊 huzzzzahh!

And don’t forget, we have lots of local produce that we brought over from Walla Walla and gathered from local farms in Orting this week! Heirloom tomatoes, plums, peaches, nectarines, green beans, blackberries, corn, blueberries (lions and tigers and bears oh my!)

If you have made it this far you have been on quite the journey. Treat yourself to some candy because all of our new Halloween 🎃 candy just dropped! (The fun stuff)

We have dill and pickling cucumbers, but a limited supply only because you folks treat dill and pickling cucumbers like people at McDonald’s treat the Mc rib.

We promised that we would be bringing you back fresh produce from Walla Walla on the regular and here’s our first drop!

All of this beautiful produce will be available this afternoon!

Shout out to Amy and her crew for putting this together for us! Today we’re headed over with heirloom tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, pickling cucumbers, lemon cucumber, peaches, nectarines, plums, San marzanos tomatoes and mixed peppers!
