☀️ Summer Sleep Tip: Focus on Total Daily Sleep, Not Perfection ☀️

Understanding your baby’s daily sleep needs is one of the most important foundations for healthy sleep and development.
As summer approaches, routines often become more flexible with holidays, family gatherings, travel, and longer days spent outdoors. While maintaining consistency is helpful, it isn’t always realistic—and that’s okay.
Instead of striving for a perfect schedule, focus on ensuring your baby is getting the total amount of sleep they need across a 24-hour period. This approach allows for greater flexibility while still supporting your baby’s sleep needs, mood, and overall well-being.
A missed nap, a later bedtime, or a day out doesn’t have to derail sleep. When you understand your baby’s daily sleep requirements, you can make adjustments with confidence and enjoy the season without feeling tied to the clock.
✨ Sleep is about balance, not perfection.

😴✨FALSE STARTS 🌙😴
Remember: An occasional false start is common and usually not a cause for concern. Infant sleep is a developmental process, and sleep patterns can vary from day to day.

If false starts are frequent, prolonged, or affecting your family’s well-being, seek professional help.

💙 Sleep isn’t always linear—small adjustments and patience often make a big difference.

✨ Newborn sleep will always be something I’m incredibly passionate about. 🌙☀️

After having my first son 3 years ago, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. I knew babies woke often… but I didn’t truly understand how overwhelming, exhausting, and confusing sleep could be until I was living it every single day.
I spent countless hours researching, Googling, learning best-practice approaches, and most importantly — learning my baby. Slowly, I became confident in understanding his needs and building strong sleep foundations.
When he started sleeping through the night around 4-ish months, everyone told me I was “just lucky.”
But honestly? There was so much time, consistency, patience, and intentional work behind it.

The same happened with my second son.
And here’s what I want other parents to know:
✨ Responsive parenting and healthy sleep can coexist.
✨ Comforting your baby and encouraging independent sleep are NOT opposites.
✨ No bond was broken. No needs were ignored. My boys were supported every step of the way.

Through consistency, education, and tuning into our children, we achieved the outcomes we hoped for — and now I’m passionate about helping other families do the same. 🤍
If you’re currently in the thick of newborn sleep, you are not alone. I’m here to help guide and support you through it. ☀️🌙

✨ Potty Training Time! ✨

So, you’re ready to start potty training your little one! 🚽💛
Preparing ahead of time can make the journey smoother, less stressful, and even exciting for your child.

Think of potty training like learning to ride a bike 🚲
At first, your child may just sit on the bike to get comfortable before they ever start pedaling. Potty training works the same way!

Start by simply introducing the potty. Let them sit on it fully clothed, explore it, and get familiar with the routine. As their confidence grows, they can begin practicing in underwear and eventually use the potty independently.

Remember — potty training takes:
✨ Patience
✨ Practice
✨ Encouragement
✨ Consistency
Celebrate the small wins and give lots of praise along the way! Every child learns at their own pace, and that’s perfectly okay. 💕

📣 When I completed my sleep courses, I also completed my potty training course! 🚽✨
I didn’t offer potty training services right away because I wanted to experience the process firsthand before helping other families through it.
Now that I’ve gone through the journey myself, I’m excited to announce that my Potty Training Digital Guide will be available soon! 🎉

Day 5 & 6 of bare-bottom potty training 👏🏼✨🎉🚽

We could not be happier — He is doing AMAZING! We’ve had multiple outings, including the circus yesterday 🎪 (on day 6 of potty training!)

We skipped pull-ups (pull-ups for us would delay the process) and went straight to underwear 👏🏼✨ ZERO p*e accidents✨ One p**p accident while out — likely because he was nervous to p**p in a public restroom
And that’s OKAY.We cleaned up, changed clothes, and moved on with our day. 💛

✔️ Wearing underwear & pants around the house✔️ Telling us when he has to p*e✔️ Woke up dry from his nap on day 6 and asked to use the potty✔️ Woke up this morning (day 7) and told us he had to p*e!

We don’t use pull-ups during naps because accidents are part of learning how their bodies work. Most kids who are potty trained ready can hold their bladder during naps. Accidents will happen the first couple days while learning. The accidents during nap time will quickly work themselves out.
We do still diaper overnight until he shows signs he’s ready for nighttime training 🌙

Bare-bottom potty training has been such a success for us!

📣During my sleep training education, I also completed a potty training certification 🎉
Now that we’ve gone through the process ourselves, I’m updating and finalizing my potty training guide and it’ll be available soon 👏🏼✨

Day #4 of bare bottom potty training 🚽✨

Some kids get the hang of potty training after day 3. A lot of kids still need extra support after day 3 — and THAT IS NORMAL 💛

What day 4 looked like for us 👇

🚽 Ran errands — we sat on the potty as soon as we got where we needed to go, and had success, but then had an accident shortly after. I’m realizing my son is still learning how to fully empty his bladder the first time, so we’re working on taking our time while sitting on the potty.

🚽 Made it home with no other accidents 🙌

🚽 Had a p**p on the potty 🚽🎉

🚽 Still chaotic and no care in the world

(Have diaper rash cream on hand , bare bottom and certain surfaces aren’t nice to the skin🤦🏻‍♀️🤣)

We’re still celebrating every win big, still using a potty chart, and still making rewards feel extra special ✨

😴 Sleep still hasn’t been an issue!

Potty training is not one-size-fits-all. Progress is still progress 💛

Day 3 of bare-bottom potty training 🚽✨
Consistency and perseverance are key, so we have been keeping it going!
By Day 3, you should usually be able to spend a little less time helicopter-parenting and start seeing more successful potty trips.

We’ve had:✔️ tiny victories✔️ big victories✔️ ZERO puddles 🙌🏼✔️ lots of running to the “p*e tree”✔️ one very proud toddler✔️ lots of excitement and cheering✔️ initiating potty trips for both p*e and p**p

We also increased how many stickers go on the potty chart when he uses the potty vs. going outside, and that definitely boosted motivation 😂

😴 And sleep still has not been affected at all! We do underwear for nap time and diapers for bedtime.

Today we’re attempting some errands. I have an appointment, so unfortunately the timing is a little out of my control, but here are a few things I’m doing to help set us up for success:

🚗 Bring your potty in the trunk and a piddle pad for the car seat just in case. (Refer to the outings section for more details.)

⏰ Keep outings short at first — ideally around an hour or less. Most toddlers can only hold their p*e for about 2 hours, so you want to be home well before that to help set them up for success.

🎉 Stay strong with the rewards, praise, and celebrations. You want your child excited about potty training. Keep the hoorahs coming! (Cake pops are currently our outing reward 😂)

🚻 Public restrooms can feel big, loud, and intimidating for toddlers. I know my appointment has private bathrooms, so I’m not bringing our potty today. But for unfamiliar places, this is where bringing your own potty can really help. If you have to use a public restroom, try helping your child acclimate to the environment first before rushing them onto the toilet.

Learning is messy, but we’re sticking with it 💛
