..A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 815 PM CDT FOR FRANKLIN

At 644 PM CDT, a confirmed large and extremely dangerous tornado was
located near Garden City, or 11 miles southwest of Meadville, moving
east at 50 mph.

This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. TAKE COVER NOW!

HAZARD...Damaging tornado.

SOURCE...Radar confirmed tornado.

IMPACT...You are in a life-threatening situation. Flying debris may
be deadly to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes
will be destroyed. Considerable damage to homes,
businesses, and vehicles is likely and complete destruction
is possible.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

To repeat, a large, extremely dangerous and potentially deadly
tornado is on the ground. To protect your life, TAKE COVER NOW! Move
to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy
building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in
a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect
yourself from flying debris.

Tonight, the Bude Fire Department recognized our members with custom embroidered hats and honored our longest serving member, Richard “Red” Thornhill, with a custom gold leaf helmet shield plaque for 52 years of service to the Bude Volunteer Fire Department.

The Bude Fire Department would like to give a big thank you to Home Hardware Center and the City of Jackson Fire Department for their donations.

Home Hardware donated 4x4 lumber for upgraded stabilization cribbing used in vehicle extrication incidents. The City of Jackson Fire Department donated a set of lifting airbags, adding equipment our department did not previously have.

We appreciate the support for our department and for helping keep our community safer and more prepared.

Significant fire weather conditions is likely on Saturday. Much drier air surging in behind a cold front combined with gusty winds and continued dry fuels will contribute to the favorable conditions for explosive fire growth potential and wildfires that will spread rapidly. Bude FD arrived first on scene. Roxie FD assisted with water relay, Meadville FD extinguished ground fire spread, and East Franklin provided manpower. Rural Rapid was also on scene for medical standby.
