Grouse Mountain's GIS Specialist, Troy Snyder, attended the annual Utah Geographic Information Council (UGIC) GIS Conference in Kanab, one of the largest GIS events in the Mountain West, and brought back valuable insights for the Grouse Mountain Environmental Consultants team.

Grouse Mountain volunteers hit the trail for the annual Global Big Day on a beautiful spring day.

Over 12 hours and 7 miles, the team identified:
• 67 bird species
• 1,116 total birds

Highlights included new species for our route, like the Evening Grosbeak and Dusky Grouse, along with sightings of Lazuli Bunting, Bullock’s Oriole, and MacGillivray’s Warbler.
