Entering year three as the Pivotal Paradigm Project, we will continue to shift and pivot to meet the needs of our partners in response to worldly events.

Since 2020, our team has expanded to include additional DEI practitioners with foundations in disciplines including Legal, Education Management, Communications and more.

We’ll continue our practice of developing free resources to highlight emerging information and best practices in support of our community on their DEI journey.

Lastly, we’ll be launching digital asynchronous courses, so that learning can continue on your time.

This week we’re celebrating 2 years of the Pivotal Paradigm Project 🎉🎉🎉

Two years of our partners trusting us to support them on their journeys to becoming more diverse, equitable, and inclusive.

Two years of pushing boundaries and leading difficult conversations to assist teams in rebuilding norms, culture, and workplace atmosphere.

Just as our team has helped others grow, we’ve grown as well through this work. Evolving our methodology and approach along the way to ensure it reaches those we work with in a constructive way.

Thank you for joining us on this ride! We can’t wait to see what lies in the future.

Since 2020, hate crimes against Asian Americans has increased significantly. In the past year alone, anti-Asian hate crimes increased by 339% nationwide, this is up from the 165% increase reported in 2021.

May is national Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month. This month, we challenge you to help advance legislation proposed in your community to protect members of the AAPI community.

We have strength in numbers.

Ensuring your workplace culture is inclusive and that all members feel like they belong starts with listening.

Although it may be cliché, listening truly makes all the difference. Company employees are the ones who know what the working environment is like the most and as such are key to understanding where the strengths and weaknesses are.

To start, consider reviewing the documents you already have (ie. Engagement surveys, exit interviews, onboarding feedback, etc). The responses can help to identify patterns where there are gaps in promoting inclusion.

Share what the org has learned with all members to increase transparency and follow up with how org leadership will attempt to make amends.

For more info on how to connect with members of your organization and enhance your avenues for listening, schedule a consultation with us. https://lnkd.in/eymBPE3X

When it comes to improving workplace DEI initiatives, hybrid work has been proven to be an asset.

From easing tensions that come with attempting to maintain a work-life balance to alleviating pressures faced by caregivers or persons with disabilities, and even removing barriers due to economic limitations such as commuting- hybrid work has helped to level the playing field for all.

As more of the U.S. ramps up to social levels that mirror a pre-pandemic time, it is crucial that we not forget the practices that have proven to enhance org diversity while continuing to progress on org goals.

Is your organization considering whether to adopt a fully in-person, fully remote, or hybrid working model? Set up a consultation with us and we can help you develop a plan that makes the most sense for your employees.

"I-I am the dream and hope of the slave" Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson shared. "So, as I take on this new role, I strongly believe that this is a moment in which all American take great pride. We have come a long way towards perfecting our union. In my family, it took just one generation to go from segregation to the Supreme Court of the United States."

The confirmation of Judge Jackson is a significant milestone for all Americans. In the 233 year history of the highest court in the land, Judge Jackson will be the 6th woman and first African American woman to be on the bench.

Representation matters! It is no secret that companies and organizations which uphold diversity, equity, and inclusion are known to be among the most successful and have the highest employee satisfaction. As our government continues to move in a direction that ensures the voices of all are represented, we hope to see similar benefits reach the people of the United States.

It’s Celebrate Diversity Month, a month dedicated to recognizing and honoring the diversity that surrounds us.

For decades, diversity in the U.S. has been on the rise - truly obtaining the ingredients needed to become “the great American melting pot”. Next steps to seeing this achieved, is true appreciation for the diversity that we have.

Diversity is what makes our history, culture, and lives rich. For companies, studies have shown that diverse workplaces have significant impacts on employees, which rolls over to customers, enhances the resources of managers, and ultimately leads to higher profits (Tynes, 2022).

It is estimated that organization that maximize diversity see an innovation revenue that is 19% higher than competition and when ethically diverse are 35% more likely to outperform competitors.

Lets prioritize diversity for all of the days that come. Need assistance charting or enhancing your path to diversity? Use the link in our bio to get started.

In 2021 we joined Project HEAL] on their journey to becoming an organization that truly embraced diversity, equity, and inclusion in all areas of their work.

Together we were able to create a Transparency Framework, honing in on the actions and steps that would help them to achieve the organization's goals.

Seeing their growth and all that they have been able to accomplish while staying committed to this DEI marathon is truly amazing! Proud to be partnering with Project HEAL.

RP from Project HEAL]:

A DEI Update from Project HEAL

In 2020, Project HEAL committed to change, and we promised we were in this for the long haul.

In 2021, we created our Transparency Framework with the guidance and expertise of The Pivotal Paradigm Project:
1. Strengthen the Board with ongoing development
2. Increase Board and Staff Representation
3. Support the CEO's learning around DEI

By the end of 2021, Project HEAL...
- Provided $19,580 in direct cash assistance to BIPOC & LGBTQ+ people
- Helped 60 BIPOC and 79 LGBTQ+ folks access free treatment
- Added 9 new team members at every level of the organization, more accurately reflecting the spectrum of people with eating disorders
- Established a Program Committee to audit and help improve our programs, particularly regarding their efficacy to serve those of our beneficiaries that are BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and/or otherwise marginalized
- Brought in a number of talented educators to lead our team in unpacking complex issues like identity, bias, intersectionality, privilege, oppression, eugenics, harm reduction, and more
- Hired the brilliant Milton Reynolds to provide ongoing 1:1 leadership & DEI mentorship to the CEO
- Allocated a portion of our annual operating budget for quarterly DEI trainings and workshops for our Board, staff, and volunteer

We look forward to continuing to grow within this space this year and the years to come.

Having good intentions has never gotten anyone anywhere without action that followed. When the latter is missing, what you have is wishful thinking, hopes, and dreams waiting to launch.

It is no secret that the pandemic forced women to leave the workforce at rates higher than men for a variety of reasons. However, as companies attempt to increase the flexibility and desirability of their work environment, the extent of women’s needs continues to be overlooked.

It is estimably that the presence of women in the workforce has decreased by nearly 2 million when compared to February 2020 and progress to close the pay gap has slowed.

The past two years have given us tremendous insight into where there are gaps in our work place culture. Let’s amplify our intentions and take steps that truly align for the equitable, inclusive, and diverse working environments we desire.

We have been reprioritizing and reorienting to the work that we do so we took a social media hiatus. After a much needed break we are back acknowledging the contributions of Black people both present, past and future.

The work that we do is grounded in inclusion for organizations. We intentionally seek to raise the voice of BIPOC staff members in organizations, and namely those identifying as Black today, this month, and always.

Join us in the celebration of Black voices, and if you have diversity and inclusion needs click the link in our bio.

As a society, so much has changed over the last 52 years since the Stonewall Uprising and still there's many a ways to go.

We stand as proud allies of the LGBTQIA+ Community and are committed to creating a more inclusive world.

How do you ?

On this day we honor those who have fallen and made way for us today. Happy Memorial Day.
