A client said something to me recently that I don't think I'll forget.

They looked at me and said, "Every morning I make a list, and every evening I add more to it. The list never seems to get any shorter."

After working with business owners for many years, I can tell you that they're not alone.
Most aren't afraid of hard work. In fact, they're some of the hardest-working people I know.

The challenge is that everything feels important, so the things that would truly move the business forward keep getting pushed to "tomorrow."

Can I ask you the same question I asked my client?

One of the things I've noticed after working with business owners for more than 16 years is that it doesn't really matter what kind of business you own.

I've worked with online businesses, storefronts, service providers, nonprofits, and network marketing professionals. While their businesses look very different, the conversation is often the same.

"I just can't seem to find the time to work **on** my business."

Most business owners aren't lacking ideas or motivation. They're simply so busy taking care of today's responsibilities that tomorrow's opportunities keep getting pushed aside.

That's one of the reasons I created the Weekly Clarity Series.

A couple of my favorite things about the Weekly Clarity Series is something I don’t talk about much.

Let Freedom Ring! Happy Independence Day America! Thank you to all of the individuals that have fought for our independence. Enjoy this day but never forget the fight (and continuing fights) for our Country - Unite on this day, share a smile, a hug, some laughter, and maybe tears with anyone who comes within your personal circle today - family - friend - stranger. Let's make our founding fathers proud of who we are as a country today!

Over the last few months I've had the same conversation with business owners again and again.

"I know I should be doing something... I just need help staying focused and consistent."

Most business owners jump in running when they start a business. They have great intentions, big goals, and a heart to win. But in all of the start-up, the building, the support for their customers/clients, the building/training a team, the financials, the systems (or lack of), falling on their shoulders overwhelm kicks in and shut down happens. Though all of those things are needed to be happening.... the business owner is left feeling alone, overwhelmed, and not sure really what to prioritize first so they jump from "fire to fire" with no real focus.
