Old growth VS new Growth. Picky cypress explained: Rain entering the tree supports fungus growth called "Stereum taxodii" this fungus then grows in long strands which creates tunnels throughout the heart of the tree creating what is knows as Pecky cypress, when not cut in time the rain continues to pour down into the tree eventually rots out the heart completely...
