Audio Department LLC

08/03/2026

We’re officially out of our Burbank office. Closing out this chapter and moving onto the next. Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the last 18 years. A special thank you to Stephen Ross who has worked with me 10+ years and has always helped do whatever is needed (which was a lot of everything). Additionally, thank you to anyone else that has worked with me over the years.

While we may not have our sales floor anymore, we are still operating our rental department with Jon Farley at our Van Nuys location shared with Analog Waves, LLC. We are happy to help with any rental needs along with unmatched equipment service.

Personally I will spend most of my time focusing on Sound Guys Solutions and am still available for any equipment sales or support with my partnership with Gotham.

With gratitude,

Gene Martin

***UPDATE***
Thank you to everyone that came out Monday. We had such a great turnout that we are canceling Tuesday. Thank you David and Vanessa for making such an amazing offer to the community, it is definitely a gesture Jeff would’ve loved.

Free Sound Equipment for Working Mixers — Monday & Tuesday at Audio Department, Burbank

Hi everyone,

Over the past several months, with the generous help of Gene Martin at Audio Department, our family has been finding new homes for my dad's sound equipment. Rather than sell the remaining items, we want to get them into the hands of sound mixers who will actually put them to work. We think that's exactly what he would have wanted.

The Institute for Cinema Studies and Gene Martin are donating everything that remains, free of charge, to any sound mixer who can use it.

When: Monday, July 27 and Tuesday, July 28, from 2 to 6pm both days
Where: Audio Department, 2700 W. Burbank Blvd., Burbank, CA 91505

Come by, say hello to Gene, and take whatever will serve you. First come, first served.

This community meant a great deal to my dad. Thank you all.

With gratitude,
David + Vanessa Wexler
