We haven't posted much in awhile due to being so busy but we're ready to fill our job calender for this summer.

We have been proud to have been able to serve our Herrington Lake community with their needs and over the fall and winter we completed quite a few jobs for clients. Pictured in this post are 3 of the jobs we did.

The first is a double level deck we built for a client. They initially had an old and rotten smaller single level deck which we tore down and removed. When then built them this double level 12'x18' deck and included stainless steel cabling in the deck and step railings.

The second job is a set of steps and walkways down to the lake we built. In this job we also installed stainless steel cabling in all the railings.

The third job is another set of steps and walkways with a 10'x10' deck. Electrical outlets were installed at the beginning of the steps and on the deck. Stainless steel cabling was also installed in the deck railings.

On top of those 3 jobs we did quite a few others. We moved several docks to new locations on the lake. Moved a houseboat and a house float. Did a few small additions to a couple of decks and a dock and built a small walkway for a client.

We're ready for more. Big jobs or small jobs. If you need a new deck built or an existing one rebuilt or need new steps and walkways built down your hillside to the lake then don't hesitate to message us through Facebook Messenger or you can call or text us at 502-269-0723.

Below is a list of jobs that we can do for you.
- Decks.
- Steps and walkways.
- All aluminum docks.
- All aluminum gangways.
- Interior flooring.
- Interior tile work.
- Indoor/ outdoor painting or staining.
- Pressure washing
- Monthly dock maintenance.

Rebel Rock Servicing, in addition to our all aluminum docks and gangways, has added quite a few new services and items for both the new docks we build and for clients with existing docks.

Encapsulated Flotation:

- We have multiple sizes on our encapsulated flotation that can be used for new and existing docks as well as gangways. We sell and install.

All aluminum Gangways:

- On new or existing docks we can install gangways from 8' all the way up to 56'. For small to medium sized docks we can install double handrail light or medium duty gangways from 8' up to 40' in length. Our light and medium gangways from 32'to 40' can either be free floating or permanently fixed to make your dock self adjusting.

- Our 52' and 56' double handrail heavy duty gangways are built with higher handrails and are made to be permanently attached to make your dock self adjusting.

- All of our gangways can be decked in composite or wood. For our heavy duty gangways we do have other decking options available.

Boat / Jet Ski Lifts & Pads:

- On our new dock builds or to clients with existing docks we now offer boat & pontoon lifts as well as jet ski pads. We have several options to choose from and we also have floating boat pads for clients who do not have electricity to their docks.

- Our electric powered lifts can be installed for V shaped hulls, pontoons and tritoons. They can be installed in slips from 10' to 18' in width.

- Our non electric floating pads can be installed for V shaped hulls, pontoons and jet skis. These floating pads can be made and installed to fit any slip width and can be made to hold multiple boats or jet skis and can be added onto if you decide to do so in the future.

- We also have traditional jet ski pads with rollers that come in 5 color options. They can be connected together for multiple jet skis.

Solar Dock Lighting:

- We now have 3 new options for solar dock lighting. Underwater lighting as well as deck surface and gangway handrail lighting. These lights are bright and low profile.

Dock Storage:

- We have many different options for storage on your deck. All of our deck boxes are completely waterproof and very sturdy. We have upright single and double door, low profile standard boxes, boxes that also provide extra seating and trash receptacles.

Kayak Launch Ports:

- One of our new items is a kayak launch port designed for docks with a higher profile but can be used with any dock. The port is attached to the side of your dock barely below the waterline. Your kayak can be set inside it and make it much easier to get in and out of from your dock.

All Aluminum Docks:

- As we previously posted we build all aluminum docks. We can build any size dock and can build them with single or multiple boat slips. We can also build our docks covered with a variety of colors for the roof. We can also build additions to your existing dock!

We are proud to be able to offer all of these new items and services to the Herrington Lake community. Anyone who would like pricing on any of our services or items or would like an estimate done for a new dock please feel free to contact us here in Facebook as well as by phone or text at 502-269-0723. Rebel Rock Servicing would like to take a moment to extend our deepest sympathies to the family of John Tudor Sr. Mr Tudor was a well loved and well known figure on Herrington Lake and a staple of this community. Mr Tudor and his kayaking expeditions will be forever missed. His passing is a sad and huge loss to all of us. We truly hope that wherever he may be now, he is happily kayaking over beautiful waters as the sunrise warms his shoulders.

2021 has started off being a very busy year so far. We have already done several jobs on top of the dock maintenance we already provide for 47 private docks on Herrington Lake.

In February we were called and asked to both maintain and repair a dock that had significant damage to one side. The right side of the boat slip was in very bad shape and the dock was beginning to sink below the water on that side.

We built the new framework to replace the broken section then transported it via the water to the dock. To remove the old broken section we had to lift that side of the dock up so it wouldn't sink further and so that we could affix the new piece easier.

Once lifted we removed a five foot by eight foot section of that side then placed and secured the new framework. After that was done we removed the rest of the old decking boards on that side and replaced it all with new decking completing the job.

We will be posting more jobs we have done soon and have several other jobs currently being worked on. We look forward to a very busy summer and year.

Need your dock repaired or maintained on a monthly basis? Interested in having a deck added onto, newly built or steps made for lake access? Call or text us at 502-269-0723. We can also receive messages through our business page and Facebook Messenger. We also now offer our services to build small aluminum frame docks. Contact us for more information. We look forward to hearing from you.

Dock Moving Services:

Saturday we moved our first dock of the season. A new client who bought a dock asked us to move it from its location on Ashley Camp to it's new home on North Hardin Heights. This one was a fairly quick move as the distance wasn't to far to take it. It now resides at it's new home and we have gained a new Dock Maintenance client as well.

Our dock moving services cover disconnecting the dock from the location it is being moved from, moving the dock and re cabling the dock at it's new location. If the dock being moved does not come with winches or cable then installation of those items will be included with the moving service.

If you have a dock you need moved feel free to contact us for an estimate to move it. We can move any dock anywhere on the lake no matter the size or distance. Call or text us at our mobile: 502-269-0723 or call us on our landline : 859-548-1313.

With all that has been going on in the world right now concerning the outbreak of the Covid-19 Coronavirus, we here at Rebel Rock Servicing & Removal, wanted to take a moment to give an update on our services.

First and foremost we want to thank all of our clients current and future for your business. We know that with all of the closures and interruptions in people's jobs it might be more difficult at this time to afford some services we and others provide. We have always strived to keep our rates low and affordable and during this outbreak we will do what we can to negotiate rates for those who have had unexpected interruptions in their income. We would also like to mention that we do now have the capability to offer financing to our clients and can now accept credit and debit card payments.

Right now we are conducting business as usual. Along with the 32 docks that we maintain for clients on Herrington Lake, we also have a construction project in progress with several scheduled and are still actively doing estimates for new clients. We do not forsee having any service interruptions to any of our current or future clients.

That being said, we want to assure everyone that we are taking every precaution possible on our end to help keep the spread of this virus contained. Our business primarily revolves around the lake area and unless we have to go into town to a store we are never around large groups of people. Also at the end of every day we are now taking the extra precaution to disinfect all tools we have worked with as well as our work vehicles. All materials we bring or have delivered to our clients will also be disinfected.

We will also be keeping sterile gloves and breathing masks with us at all times when conducting business for those clients who may request we wear those items in their presence. If anyone does call us for an estimate or to do a job and you do have health concerns please be sure to request ahead of time that we take these extra safety precautions and wear these items when conducting business with you.

We will continue to take all of these precautions until the CoronaVirus crisis has passed.

Another big project completed for a new client on Waterworks Road.

Since we started our business in 2013, we have to say that the summer, fall and winter of 2019 as well as the beginning of 2020 have been the absolute busiest we have ever been. The Herrington Lake community has been very good to us and we are striving to do the best we possibly can for all of you as well. We havent posted any of our big projects in awhile because of how busy we have been. We finally have the openings to take on new clients and projects and to show everyone what we have been able to accomplish over the past year. Heres the first large project we want to show. We have a lot so we will post them one at a time over the next month or so.

We do want to say first and foremost that this particular project took much longer than we thought and much longer than it should have. For that we want to give our apologies to this client for their extreme patience. We were very happy that they were pleased with the finished job.

This project was one of the more challenging projects we have done. One reason of course was because we were still fairly new to the area when we started it and building on the terrain the lake here has is in and of itself a challenge going thing with a lot of things we have to learn as we do them. On this job we also did a couple of things we had never done before. Which we will describe later in this post.

When we initially came out to take a look at this job there were already an existing set of steps going down the left side of the property to the lake and an existing 10'x10' deck they were connected to. Both the steps and the deck were in very bad shape on not safe to be used. The client wanted to have the old deck and steps removed and a new deck the same size built with new steps going down to the lake on the right side of the property. The client liked the deck we had put near the water on the project we had previously done just down the road from them and decided to have their steps connect to a deck on the bank as well. So heres what we did.

We tore down the existing deck and had to dig out 2'x2' piers to set the support beams in. We also had to use anchors and anchor plates on a couple of them that were not able to be dug that deep. Once done we constructed the exterior from for the deck then raised it level over the piers. We then set the 6"x6" support beams and secured the deck frame to them. After that we put in the joists, decking and then the railings. We included at the client's request a gate on the front of the deck so that they could use it to easily dump all of the leaves and brush they collected from their prooerty to their compost pile on the hillside. We included a second gate where the first set of steps would be connected.

We then built the first platform that the second set of steps would be connected to going down the hillside. On this platform we include a small seat for resting that we made with part of the seat able to be lifted up to use the inside for storage. Once that was finished we built the first set of steps and connected the deck and first platform.

Before we could proceed from there we had to clear quite a bit of brush and several small trees from the path down the hillside the second set of steps would be built. We also had to do a lot of clearing on the bank where the second deck would go as well.

Once we had all of that cleared out we built the third platform down at the bottom of the hillside. We had to set this platform fairly high up so we made sure to anchor the support posts very well into solid rock. Once done with that platform we built the second set of steps and connected the first and second platforms.

Then we were ready to begin construction of the 6'x16' deck on the bank. We were lucky that we had a perfect spot for it. The rock face on this particular spot was long and flat. The first thing we did was put a 16' ledger board against this rock face and use 1/2"x6" wedge bolts to anchor with. The we constructed the rest of the frame and, leveled and secured it, then put in all of the support posts. We put in the joists and decking the began on the handrails.

This was where we did the two things we had never done before. The client wanted to have an unobstructed view of the lake while they were using this deck but still have something in the rails that would be easy to see through. This was the first thing we had never done. We ran 6 rows of stainless steel cabling through the posts under the rails. These turned out very well and had the desired effect for the client. Once we finished this deck we built a third sheet span of steps and connected the second platform to the deck.

Because this deck was built to be 10 feet above the summer pool line (740) it was still fairly high up from the bank to allow easy access to the water so we built two staircases going down the side and front of the deck to give the clients an easy and safe way to access the water. As it turned out the bottom of the staircase ended up bing a foot off the summer pool level.

Once we completed this we had an idea to reuse one of the platforms from the old steps that was still in good shape as an area that the clients could use for a storage area and a place to keep their kayaks. To do this we did the second thing we had never done. We built a small spiral staircase on the back of the deck curving to the right and up to the same level as the old platform we were reusing. Then we built a short walkway to connect them. We replaced the railings on the old platform and then we were finally done. Although after we were finished we did have to complete the tear down of the old steps coming down the hillside.

We learned a lot of things on this project and we're sure we will learn more new things on all the projects to come. We're ready for the next set of steps and even decks.

Need a set of steps to more easily access the lake on your property? How about a new deck or even a deck rebuild or extension? We can do it for you. We can be reached by call or text on our mobile at 502-269-0723 or on our landline at 859-548-1313. Estimates are free.
