We sold 2500 cattle on Saturday October 17th including 150 weigh ups, 1350 yearlings and 1100 spring calves. Market on all classes had good buyer demand. The cow and bull market was $5 higher than last week with 5 buyers competing. Yearlings were almost all backgrounded and that market was $3-10 higher than our last test 1 month ago. It was our first test of spring calves. Quality of calves was super shot programs are important. Good take home dollars on calves coming off of the cow. High quality calf sale next Saturday at 12:00 NOON, weigh ups 9:30 A.M.

We will be conducting a special spring calf sale on Saturday October 24th with 1700 in the offering. This sale will feature some of the very best calves in our area, some will be in load lots and many top end replacement heifers will be offered. All of the calves will be coming fresh off of the cow from local farms and ranches day of sale, all will have complete precondtioning shot programs, and will weigh 300-700 lbs. The run will consist of mostly black and black white face calves, however also included in the sale will be one consignment of 270 char x strs and heifers. Quality will be second to none on this sale and many front end calves will weigh into the 600’s. Weigh Ups will sell at 9:30 AM and spring calves will begin at 12:00 NOON.

We sold 100 weigh up cattle on October 10th. 6 buyers in attendance market was steady to higher. Light test on most classes. Best end cows $145-153. Middle cut $135-145. Low yielding, full, blemished & small carcass below $135. Heiferettes $200-250. Bulls $150-195 depending kind & yield. Cutting bulls no test.

We will be conducting a special yearling and spring calf sale along with weigh ups on Saturday October 17th with 2500 head in the offering. The run will consist of 1200 yearling steers and heifers steers weighing 800-1050 lbs mostly in load lots, including 300 head of black spayed heifers weighing 800-900 lbs. In load lots. Also in the yearling division will be packages of steers and preg checked open heifers weighing 800-1100 lbs. We will also feature our first fall selection of spring calves coming right off of the cow featuring 1000 head. The calves will be black and red all will have fall precoditioning shots and will weigh 300-600 lbs some will be sold in load lots. We will also sell weigh ups at 9:30 AM and yearlings will begin at 12:00 NOON followed by spring calves. Please bring weigh ups in on Friday if possible. Also please consign ahead for all fall and winter upcoming special sales.

We sold 150 weigh up cattle on Monday September 28th with 6 buyers in the seats. Market is under pressure and we called it $5-10 lower than 2 weeks ago. It was a lite test over many of the classes. Best end cows $138-150 Middle cut $120-138 Low yielding full blemished & small carcass under $120. Slaughter and feeding bulls $150-180 Blemished and small carcass bulls under $150. NO Test Heiferettes Fat Cows $130-148. Cutting bulls No test. Our weigh up sales will be held on Saturday from here forward through the end of the year. We sold 220 weigh up cattle on Monday September 14th on a lower market from 2 weeks ago. We called the market $5-15 lower than our last test with top cows close to $160. Bulk of the cows $145-157, middle cut $130-145, low yielding, small carcass, full, & blemished cows under $130. Fat Cows have showed the biggest market pressure in the weigh up cattle, selling from $140-155. NO TEST feeding or fat heiferettes. Slaughter bulls $150-200 depending on yield and soundness. Some blemished or thin bulls under $150. Overnight weigh up cattle with good condition saw the biggest demand. Next weigh ups sell on Monday September 28th.


We sold 3200 cattle for our annual BBQ customer appreciation feeder cattle sale on Saturday September 19th. This sale concluded our 59th year in family business and kicked off year 60. It was a well oiled machine in terms of the sale efficiency. 50 consignors had cattle in town and buyers came to participate in purchasing all classes. The market was steady to $10 higher than 3 weeks ago on our last yearling test. Flesh, quality, and weigh up really reflect prices on a market that carries so much uncertainty. We sold 265 weigh up cattle on Monday August 24th to our normal group of weigh up buyers on a lower market. Many of the cows were wet, and a lot of blemished cows were in town. Bull run was shorter. Best end cows $165-175, middle cut 150-165 and all small carcass and blemished cows were under $150. Lite test of heiferettes up to $210. Lite test of fat cows in the $160-166 range. No test cutting bulls. Slaughter bulls sold from $180-210 with the exception of thin and blemished bulls and they were under $180.

We sold 1150 cattle on Saturday August 29th. The run consisted of a small run of weigh ups, only 65 head in the offering. All classes of weigh ups sold steady to just a little lower than Mondays weigh up sale. The balance of the sale was feeder cattle. It was our first feeder test since late July. The market was $10-30/ cwt lower than our last test. All of the feeder cattle were out of background yards, they were not off of grass. Although the pressure of the market was felt, buyers were bidding actively. Thank you buyers sellers and work crew for a good day.
