GET TO KNOW LIZ & WHAT TO EXPECT AT HUNT AUCTIONS & LAND

I’m Col. Liz Hunt—a fifth-generation auctioneer who started calling bids at just six years old. Auctions have been part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I believe they should be honest, organized, fair and, most importantly, fun.

I run a fast-paced auction, but I want every bidder—whether it’s your first auction or your hundredth—to understand exactly how things work.

Meet the Crew

An auctioneer is only as good as the people working beside them, and I’m proud of our team:

What to Expect at Our Auctions

1. Come prepared to pay.
We accept cash, checks with a valid driver’s license and credit cards. A 5% fee applies to credit-card purchases.

Returned checks will be charged an additional $50 fee. A bad check for more than $500 will result in a call to the prosecuting attorney’s office. Don’t make us do that!

2. Everything is sold as-is.
All items are sold AS-IS, WHERE-IS, with no warranties, exceptions or guarantees. Please inspect items carefully before bidding.

3. Auction-day announcements take precedence.
Announcements made on the day of the sale override all printed, verbal and digital advertisements.

4. Know your budget.
I am an auctioneer—not a financing company. Please know what you have in the bank before you bid.

5. Our crew may bid.
Members of the auction crew are allowed to bid and must pay for their purchases just like everyone else. If Liz, Brandon or Ty intends to bid on an item, we will announce it beforehand so everyone knows.

6. Phone and write-in bids are welcome.
Carolyn or Nicky will handle phone and write-in bids. Online bidding will not be available.

7. Use your bidder card!
Hold it up and make sure we see you. If you’re winking, waving or using your hands, it can be difficult to tell whether you’re bidding or just being friendly!

8. Check your tickets before leaving.
Please review your purchases and charges before you leave the sale. Liz travels extensively during the week, so we want to correct any issues while everyone is still there on auction day.

9. Be respectful.
Treat the auction crew, the seller’s property and your fellow bidders with respect. We’ll always work hard to do the same for you.

10. HAVE FUN!
Auctions are meant to be exciting. Come ready to visit, laugh, find a treasure or two and enjoy the day with us.
