The Greater Burlington Young Professionals program is dedicated to empowering the voice of tomorrow

The Greater Burlington Young Professionals program hosts many different events that will help expand your social circle and develop your professional skills. Networking at Night: After-hours socials typically held from 5:30 - 7 PM. These are hosted at various Chamber of Commerce business locations, and include fun activities. Examples of past events include: Axe Throwing, 34 Raceway Private Tour,

Trivia Night

Lunch & Learn: Our most popular events, these events include free lunch and an educational seminar presented by a local Chamber of Commerce business. Past examples include: Negotiating 101, Tax Prep, local construction project updates, and more. Biz Tour: Tour one of our local factories for a behind the scenes look at things made and created right here in Greater Burlington. Regional Field Trip: New to the roster for Young Professional events, this will give Greater Burlington Young Professionals a chance to visit surrounding communities such as Galesburg, Fort Madison, Keokuk, and Monmouth. A great opportunity to expand your network outside of your local community. We will also be the host location for Regional Field Trips, meaning you can join us while we welcome Regional Young Professionals to a Bee's game, or a day at FunCity! Annual Regional Conference: The best professional conference in Southeastern Iowa, this conference invites attendees from local and surrounding communities for the opportunity to listen to Keynote speakers, Breakout seminars, team building exercises, lunch, and more. Today attendees gathered for a Lunch & Learn to hear from Lunning Chapel on the importance of making end of life plans with your loved ones, and for yourself. Rochelle lead the group through open conversations about different types of burial options, funeral services, and more.

While these topics are never easy or fun, it is always an important conversation to have.

Yesterday professionals from the Greater Burlington area gathered for the InspireNext Summit where they heard from Keynote Speaker, Chris Lee on how important making connections is when it comes to cultivating workplace culture.
They participated in activities that highlighted several professional skills such as collaboration, active listening, and effective communication.

🫖 This exclusive event was hosted by Thyme & Spice Co., where attendees got the inside scoop about all things loose leaf tea.

This event showcased how tea is made, explained several common ingredients and types of teas, covered the health benefits of different herbs and spices, and let each member experiment and brew their very own blend!
