✨The Sacred Ibis (Threskionis aethiopicus) once lived in Egypt and is depicted in many ancient Egyptian wall murals and sculptures. It is also found as mummified specimens at many burial sites and played a significant religious role, in particular during the Late and Ptolemaic periods. The ibis represented the god Thoth, god of wisdom, knowledge and writing, and was considered the herald of the flood. It was of practical use to villagers as it helped to rid fish ponds of water snails that contained dangerous liver parasites. However, it is now extinct throughout Egypt because of gradual aridification through swamp drainage and land reclamation. This piece is one very close to my heart. I have been wanting to realize this design for years now. I wanted to wait till the right time. And my show with is the perfect opportunity. And with this post I introduce you to gems inlayed in my work!!! This work features 1 aaa grade real ruby set in a gold bezel. And the color and from northstar. Will be available March 27th. ✨Really been putting the work into my designs lately. This is a design that was inspired by the inside of a sarcophagus I saw at the Boston museum of art. Really going for using my whole Canvas with this design. And it just pops with that pommy red. As always sandcarved and inlayed with real gold✨

Sobek was a god of the Nile who brought fertility to the land. As the “Lord of the Waters” he was thought to have risen from the primeval waters of Nun to create the world and made the Nile from his sweat. One creation myth stated that Sobek laid eggs on the bank of the waters of Nun thus creating the world. This picture is from a collector and i just love everything about it.
