June arrives with a Burlington curbside recycling collection week! Take responsibility to start recycling and stop tossing valuable resources into the trash! Place your green Area Recyclers container curbside on your trash collection day and remember there's no limit to the amount you set out for recycling- simply have it sorted/separated and we'll do the rest :-)

And yet again...improperly disposed of rechargeable batteries started a fire! This happened at the DMC Regional Landfill. Thanks to close observation and quick thinking, staff was able to extinguish it. PLEASE do NOT toss rechargeable batteries in with your trash. FREE rechargeable battery disposal options are easy to locate- you can drop them at the HazChem Center Of Southeast Iowa and Swap Shop, major retailers such as Lowes and Menards, and at the Area Recyclers office during business hours. A reminder that Area Recyclers, the DMC Regional Landfill, and the Hazchem Center are all closed tomorrow in observance of Memorial Day. Our curbside collection is in towns outside of Burlington this week. Monday's routes will be collected Tuesday, and Tuesday's route is collected as usual.

Good Friday afternoon! Please note that in observance of the Memorial Day holiday, all departments of the DMC Regional Waste Commission (the DMC Regional Landfill, the Area Recyclers facility, the HazChem Center Of Southeast Iowa and Swap Shop, and the Recycled 2 You gift shop) will be closed on Monday, May 25th.
Curbside recycling collection for the week of 5/25 is in community's outside of Burlington, and Monday's routes will be collected on Tuesday. We wish everyone a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend.
