Tomorrow 3/10/23 at 2PM there is a public hearing to SUNSET the Highway Use Fee/Tax imposed on certain trucks. Our business SUPPORTS HB 5290 An Act Sunsetting the Highway Use Tax as it is a financial and administrative burden on our business and the tax will ultimately impact our customers in higher pricing which will be in addition to our recent price increases caused by the high cost of diesel and gas (lots of taxes paid in those transactions too). Hopefully seeing how this works, helps others to engage in the legislative process. Thanks to the Republicans and Rep. House Republicans have used a parliamentary procedure to circumvent Democrat opposition to a bill that would save inflation-weary businesses and residents money by eliminating the new highway use tax (HUT) on heavyweight trucks.

Just a reminder to all who may have increased their use of disinfecting wipes or any sort of personal care wipes during this time, please dispose of all wipes even those marketed as "flushable" into the trash can. They are bad for the sewer system and also bad for your septic tank's ability to function properly. They can clog the tank inlet or impede the tank outlet pipe and result in a fluid rise in the tank that will cause a backup into your home. You won't see it happening until it's too late. Throw ALL wipes into the trash.

The South Windsor Pollution Control Department needs your help! This morning 4 of our 11 pump stations had clogged pumps due to sanitizing wipes and paper towels. These items are not designed to breakup when wet. This picture was taken today from the Pleasant Valley Pump Station showing an operator removing the ball of wipes from the pump. Please help spread the word by cross posting.

This is the second phone outage we have experienced since switching to Comcast Business at the end of March. Maybe we should have stayed with Frontier.

Happy Anniversary to us! Today is the first day of our 28th year in business and that is no April Fool's joke!
