Tabbetha's Background:
Tabbetha has been practicing Natural Horsemanship for 12 years. She first became involved with horses at age 10 though local riding lessons. Grandpa Lueth 2 years later bought

her 1st horse. Tabbetha credits her start into natural horsemanship to her 1st horse, Blaze. A green 3 year old was a lot for a 12 yr. old and beginner horse owner. Tabbetha restarted Blaze through Parelli at age 13 after a year off riding. Things were very different! Tabbetha had become the leader Blaze needed and he, her partner. Since then.. Tabbetha has made it her life goal to create successful partnerships between students and their horses! High School

I have been using Tabbetha Lueth since June 2014 to help me with my 11 yr old quarter horse mare who would not take the bridle, dance around when I used fly spray, wouldn't load in a trailer, and was spooky. . Gideon is looking good w/ his circles & maintaining gait over a jump 💫 I like to ask for this both at a trot & canter for a few laps. He understood how to “hunt the jump” pretty well so it was time to ask for another lap 😁

It’s not too late to work towards & accomplish those horsemanship goals this summer! Invest some time into a green horse & enjoy rides on the rail or trail this fall. Something missing, hiccups in the partnership.. Let’s schedule a refresher & see what skills need sharpened between you & your horse! How often should you ask your horse for sideways?

Answer…
🌟 ABOUT EVERY TIME YOU EXERCISE, WARM UP, OR RIDE 🌟

“The better your horse backs up & goes sideways, the better he does everything else.”

Exercise or warm-up online/liberty:
🐴 Use to get your horse in a “thinking frame of mind.” Rather than using the reactive side of the brain..
🐴 Teach sideways at different rope lengths & from different positions of the horse.
🐴 Once it’s good online, test at liberty.

Riding:
🐴 Same as on the ground, use for worried/spooky situations to move the feet & mind.
🐴 Start with a basic sideways facing a fence for support. Later, take away the fence, use 1 hand (loose rein), & build to bridle-less.
🐴 Teach advanced sideways maneuvers at walk, trot, & canter both with contact & without.

Archie is Sue’s rescue horse. We’re working on building his trust with humans! Archie isn’t comfortable picking up his front feet or them being held. His hindquarters & back legs are a “no” spot for being touched. I’m using the end of my rope, stick, & hands with approach & retreat to cause those to become “yes” spots! It’s a lot of going slow, retreating, & reproaching with horses that have had little handling. Kudos out to Sue for taking in Archie & giving him a home ❤️
