I'm Jennifer...I photograph families and couples on our land here in the North Carolina mountains. I keep things relaxed, natural, and focused on connection.

Our farm, Farm Trouvaille, is where most of my sessions take place. We also host guests at the farm, and every stay includes a free portrait session. Whether you’re coming for the cows, the quiet, or just to slow down...I’d love to help you remember it well.

Just a week ago we were taking senior photos… now she’s officially graduated!

A little different than my usual sessions at home with my own cows..

I spent the evening photographing this lovely couple at my friend Emily’s farm, Happy Hens & Highlands Farm LLC and the weather gave us absolutely everything.. sunshine, storm clouds, wind, and a little rain thrown in for good measure.

What I love most is that every farm and every herd has its own personality, and Emily has created such a beautiful experience out there. Between the views, the animals, and evenings like this, it’s easy to see why so many people make a stop at her farm while visiting the area.

Also pretty sure the cows knew they were the stars of the show...they always are...lol.

One of my favorite things about offering sessions like this…
families don’t have to plan anything big.

Just show up, soak in the evening, and let your kids be little.

This sweet family was actually visiting the farm and took advantage of a session during their stay, and honestly, that’s my favorite kind.

Completely worth it..

I’m pretty sure none of us could feel our hands by the end of this… but LOOK at this magic.

Styled shoots like this always remind me how much goes into creating something beautiful...trust, teamwork, and just a tiny bit of suffering for the art 😂

These two mean a little extra to me.. getting to document their story and the way they have found something so real together..it's just really special.
Sometimes the right kind of love shows up and everything just makes sense.

Prom is this week (how did that happen so fast?!)

I started out in black and white. Like, only black and white. Back in 2003, that’s all I shot...

Every now and then, a session takes me right back there. This one did. There’s something in the quiet of her smile, the in-between moment, the soft light... it felt like a B&W kind of frame.

But also? The color version has this warm, golden “hold onto fall” kind of feel I couldn’t ignore.

So I’m sharing both. Because I couldn’t pick. Can you?

Some sessions hold a little bit of everything...laughter, history, love, new beginnings… and a touch of mountain magic. This family brought it all. From grandparents walking hand in hand with grandkids, to the way adult siblings still crack each other up, this was such a joy to document.

These are the kinds of stories that make me love what I do...simple, beautiful, and full of heart.

It keeps snowing here, so I’m flipping back to spring...and this sweet session on my dear friend’s Highland cow farm.

Alyson and Dayton were the calmest presence in the middle of green hills, long grass, and the most curious cows (who always manage to steal a few frames).

So thankful to Happy Hens & Highlands Farm LLC for sharing this space and letting me photograph so many beautiful moments here. It’s a joy, every time.
