Tonight's realization:
I've grown the type of woman that 12 y.o. me would've admired. If you knew the type of "know it all" tween I was, you'd know this is a big deal!

My inner child cheered!

I was examining my grey (and blue!) hairs and thought objectively about work, life, family, etc. And like a lightening bolt, it hit me...

My 12 year old self... that mouthy, precocious, brilliant, fearless, girl... would actually look up to the person I've become. She'd be proud of me and admire my fortitude and grit in the face of adversity. She may even consider me a ! (Adult me does!!)

Living with integrity and building businesses on that foundation has always been a pillar of who I am, but tonight's epiphany felt really special. Reaffirmation that I'm on the right path even though I frequently feel like I'm breaking this trail alone.

What would your 12.y.o. self say? Are you becoming the person you always said you would? It's never too late to be everything you're meant to be... 😘

What are some of your money blocks? Did you know that your beliefs around money are ingrained by the age of SEVEN?? And therefore, every limiting belief you have around money has taken root by that age as well.

We reinforce or heal those limiting beliefs as we age which is good because your ability to attract and increase the money that you have is DIRECTLY related to how you think about money.

The good news is, everyone can overcome their money blocks! You can overwrite those limiting beliefs and rewire your brain to develop a positive, confident, abundant outlook on money and your finances. Speak some of these positive mantras out loud and give it a try!

Have you ever heard of the proverb that says "the cobbler's children have no shoes..."? They're so busy helping others that they neglect their own needs.

Cobblers are business owners and business owners struggle with this ALL THE TIME! Myself included!

This saying has played over and over in the back of my mind for YEARS. I've been so focused on helping others understand and master their money that paying attention to my OWN finances took a back burner for a bit.

I've been so busy working in my business- teaching, planning, coaching, building client reports, portfolio management, trading in accounts, etc. that I let my household finances become an afterthought.

Sometimes, I forget to move the money to pay myself, and I never file my taxes in April- I file an extension bc im too busy helping my clients plan for and file on time! I forget to negotiate the rising cost of home internet, or use my credit card points efficiently... there's always something!
However, I find that the more I put things off, the greater the stress and pressure becomes, even though I know I'm putting it off so I can do the work of serving my clients, which brings in revenue, to pay the bills, etc!

But, if I were to take my own advice: This is just like the safety mask application on a airplane! We need to put our O2 mask on ourselves before helping others. Business Owners need to learn that it's OKAY to take time to care for themselves in addition to caring for others.

So, between now and the end of the year, I'm carving out the *time* to take care of my own year-end financial planning needs in addition to serving my clients!

Stay tuned for my favorite year-end checklists and follow along with me because I have some big plans for 2025 ;) and I'd love for you to join in and be part of it!

Hi, I'm Tiffany, a professionally trained singer with a degree in business, who also happens to be a nationally recognized award-winning financial advisor. I created Virtuoso Advising for Artists out of a desire to marry my passion for financial literacy with my first love: the Arts! šŸŽ¼šŸŽ§šŸŽ™ļøā

I love helping performers and creative professionals take ownership of their income and finances with tools that will set them up for a successful and sustainable career in the arts. As a musician myself, I know first-hand how challenging it can be to manage your finances and plan ahead while managing the income inconsistencies of this sector.

My mission is simple: to create a whole generation of financially savvy and empowered artists who can boldly share their art and beauty with the world; to support them and keep them from burning out due to finances and thus eradicate the term 'starving artists.'

.school and my alma mater, share a common operatic thread: graduated from those institutions. 😊
And I'm proud to say I've taught repeatedly at both while sharing faculty positions with Ms. Fleming at several other A-level Opera Houses we both serve. šŸ˜‰

But one great talent does not a legacy make....

Today, I celebrate and thank the forward-thinking faculty of the Eastman Opera & Vocal Department for having me on sight to speak with their students.

Our seminar was not limited to one level of study, either. We had students from all levels (Baccalaureate through DMA) in attendance as business acumen and financial literacy permeate all levels of development and a career in the arts.

To be honest, I believe that the financial landscape is shifting. The financial pressures and the priorities of artists today continue to be ever present, yet i do believe they are different than generations of artists in the past.

We need to take a hyper-defensive stance against the predatory behaviors of all who seek to undermine the financial stability of our developing artists. This begins in the hallowed educational chambers but carries through to any and all who seek to market to this demographic.

Today's seminar highlighted ways to combat this predatory marketing messaging and how to take a hypervigilant stance in protecting one's own cash and financial interests... but I fear the work on this front is just beginning. Afterall, "Click to buy" on Tikt@k nd other socials didn't exist a year ago...

Still the aim remains: .
Financial empowerment through ownership, agency, and education remains as important now as it was 7 years ago when we began.

A student today at gave me this gift.
It might not seem like a gift. In fact. It might look like trash.

But during today's class I taught about the importance of starting small and building consistently.

I shared my personal dream of my . (Yep, I'm hashtaging this bc it's gonna a become a thing.)

I shared that I CREATED an income stream to fund my family's dream of owning a home in VT by collecting cans and returning them for the 5 cent deposit in NYS. I started collecting cans 2 years ago. My family in PA holds cans for me... 2 years later we have over $400 saved in our "Vermont can home fund"!

Consistency over intensity was the lesson. Saving consistently and finding creative ways to "find" money to save can help artists early on in their career.... or anyone who's saving up for a mountain home in VT....šŸ˜‰
