Residential Home Builders Alliance The Residential Home Builders Alliance (RHBA) was formed in February of 2015 by a handful of dedicated building industry professionals.

The Residential Home Builders Alliance (RHBA) was formed in February of 2015 by a handful of dedicated building industry professionals who are passionate about the betterment of their industry. We love our industry and intend to provide the value to members that has been lacking in recent years. We are dedicated to fostering business growth and strengthening the commitment to personal development,

mentoring and education. Our strength lies in the energy, talents, collaboration and participation of our diverse members. Members range from large organizations to a one-person business and everything in between. RHBA offers the resources and support to help each of those members compete and prosper in today’s environment. It accomplishes its mission through networking, educational seminars, special events and governmental awareness in the home building industry. We at RHBA have several goals: to keep our members informed and educated about laws and changes that affect the way we conduct business; to network and meet new industry peers; mentor those new to the business and to give back to an industry that has been so good for us. Here is what we have accomplished in less than a year since our formation:
• Twenty members
• We hosted two informative seminars: TILA – RESPA Integrated Disclosure Rule – How the New Rule Will Affect Real Estate Closings last September and will be hosting Building your Future in a Recovering Construction Market on Thursday February 11.
• We held meetings in February, April, July, August, October and November.
• Hosted a meet and greet networking event in Schaumburg last spring.

Hats off to the Illinois Tollway for hosting a successful meet the Job Order Contracting (JOC) Meet the Primes event yesterday morning.

What a great effort to put qualified subcontractors in front of prime companies such as Leopardo Construction, Anchor Mechanical LLC, McDonagh Demolition and Construction, Inc.

A big thank you to Terry Miller and the rest of the Illinois Tollway team for the special recognition to the members of the Illinois Tollway Technical Assistance team!

Here are the biggest hurdles contractors think about when working with the Tollway:

- Not familiar with the bidding process.
- Difficulty creating a capabilities statement.
- Needing help putting a successful bid together.
- Trouble obtaining surety bonds for prime contracts.
- Unfamiliar with the Tollway insurance requirements.
- Obtaining the proper MWDVBE certifications.

The Illinois Tollway has invested in their diversity efforts and it shows by having our team help you overcome each past obstacle.

For the past two years it’s been an honor assisting members of our Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce technical assistance program cohort to meet the insurance and bonding requirements.

The new stimulus bill includes home owner assistance efforts. The bill includes $10 billion for home owner assistance efforts, including direct relief with mortgage payments, small 1-4 rental unit properties, property tax payments and utility costs.
