We would like to take a moment today to remember one of our fallen brothers, Charles J Deal, who died in the line of duty 39 years ago today.

He is forever remembered on our memorial wall in our station.

Arlo got lots of love at the Butler County Humane Society’s barking lot party. Most of you know that Arlo was adopted from them about a year and a half ago and has lived at our fire station since.

We would encourage everyone to go find themselves a furry friend (or two) so that they can bring joy into your lives just like Arlo does for our firefighters.

In partnership with Butler County Safe Kids, we will be doing bicycle helmet fittings (with free bike helmets while supplies last), and a car seat round up event (collection of old, damaged, or expired car seats) at the fire station on Saturday August 29, 2026 from 9am to 11am.

This weekend is the 4th annual Jimmy Ellis training weekend. We will have about 75% of our department attending classes or working as support staff for 3 days of training, brotherhood and networking with firefighters from around the country.

We will try to share pictures of the weekend as much as we can, but we also want to highlight why this weekend is so important.

The event honors the late Cpt. Jimmy Ellis, a 32-year veteran volunteer firefighter who was vice president of Adams Area Fire District and career firefighter with the City of Pittsburgh.

We would like to thank Shirley Walker for the extremely generous donation of $1,125 for the care of Arlo.

This donation will go towards monthly medicines, vet check ups, food (and treat) purchases and making sure Arlo has all the toys and enrichment he needs to live his best life.

With the support of our community, we are able to make sure all of Arlos naps (he takes a lot) look like this.

🚧 Heads Up, Drivers! 🚧

With several road construction and paving projects taking place throughout the city this week, expect lane closures, detours, and slower-than-normal traffic in some areas. Please allow yourself extra travel time, stay alert in work zones, and watch for workers and flaggers.

🚒 A Reminder About Emergency Vehicles: 🚑

Construction zones and traffic backups can make it more difficult for firefighters, EMS, and police to reach people who need help. If you see or hear an emergency vehicle with lights and sirens:

✅ Stay calm.
✅ Signal your intentions.
✅ Safely pull to the right and stop until the emergency vehicle has passed.
✅ Never block intersections or follow closely behind an emergency vehicle.

Every second matters during an emergency, and your cooperation helps first responders get where they’re needed as quickly and safely as possible.

Thank you for your patience during this week’s road work and for doing your part to keep our community—and our first responders—safe.
